138.com Offer – FA Cup 5th Round

There’s a big weekend of FA Cup 5th Round action to look forward to and 138.com are running a tasty little price boost. Place a treble bet on Watford, Everton and Tottenham at the normal odds quoted on site and if it wins, 138.com will top our account balance up with a Price Boost. Translated into matched betting terms, this gives us a potential risk-free profit of £25.89 and here’s how…

Price Boost Bet:

The maximum stake for this offer is £20.00.

The current odds on Watford, Everton and Tottenham all winning are 5.42. This means that if our accumulator wins, we will receive £108.40 cash (normal odds) and a £51.60 free bet (price boost up to 8.00). We know we can extract 80% of any free bet as cash, so in this case £41.28, giving us total cash returns of £149.68 and a profit of £129.68.

Place £20.00 on Watford, Everton & Tottenham @ 5.42 = Potential profit of £129.68

Match 1: Watford v Leeds (Kick-Off: 15:00 on Saturday 20th February 2016)

On the first match, we have to cover our original stake of £20.00.  If we divide £20.00 by 0.98 (to account for the 2% Smarkets commission), this gives us a lay stake of £20.41.

Lay £20.41 on Watford @ 1.63 = Potential liability of £12.85

If Watford win – £12.85 = – £12.85
If Watford don’t win – £20.00 + £20.00 = £0.00

So if Watford don’t win, the offer will be over and we’ll have broken even. However, if Watford do win, we will have lost £12.85 so far.

Match 2: Bournemouth v Everton (Kick-Off: 17:15 on Saturday 20th February 2016)

So, if Watford win, this means on the next match we will have to cover both the £12.85 lost on the first match plus the original stake of £20.00. If we divide £32.85 by 0.98 (to account for the 2% Smarkets commission), this gives us a lay stake of £33.52.

Lay £33.52 on Everton @ 2.20 = Potential liability of £40.23

If Everton win – £12.85 – £40.23 = – £53.08
If Everton don’t win – £20.00 – £12.85 + £32.85 = £0.00

So if Everton don’t win, the offer will be over and we’ll have broken even. However, if Everton do win, we will have lost £53.08 so far.

Match 3: Tottenham v Crystal Palace (Kick-Off: 15:00 on Sunday 21st February 2016)

So, if Everton win, this means on the next match we will have to cover both the £53.08 lost so far plus the original stake of £20.00. If we divide £73.08 by 0.98 (to account for the 2% Smarkets commission), this gives us a lay stake of £74.57.

smarkets white

Lay £74.57 on Tottenham @ 1.68 = Potential liability of £50.71

If Tottenham win – £12.85 – £40.23 – £50.71 + £129.68 = £25.89 profit
If Tottenham don’t win – £20.00 – £12.85 – £40.23 + £73.08 = £0.00

So, if any team fails to win along the way, we’ll have broken even and there’s no harm done. However, if all three teams win, we’ll have made a nice risk-free profit of £25.89!

If our treble wins, our free bet will be credited to our account within 24 hours of settlement.

I’d like to point out that the above workings are based on the lay odds that were available at the time of writing. If the lay odds fluctuate before we are able to place our lay bets, this may result in us making more potential profit, less potential or even a slight loss, so please bear that in mind before deciding whether or not to do this offer.
