188BET Offer – Champions League & Europa League Qualifiers

The Final Round of Champions League and Europa League qualifying gets underway this week and you don’t want to miss this 188BET offer! If a penalty is awarded in any Champions League or Europa League qualifying match this week, 188BET will refund all losing First/Anytime Goalscorer, Correct Score and Half Time/Full Time bets on that match as a free bet, up to a maximum of £25.00. Translated into matched betting terms, this gives us a potential profit of £62.25 and here’s how…

Qualifying Bet:

If you’re unfamiliar with qualifying bets, please see my Qualifying Bet Strategy page for a walk-through guide on how they should be done.

Qualifying bets must be placed between 00:01 on Monday 15th August 2016 and 20:05 on Thursday 18th August 2016, to be eligible.

There is no way of making this offer risk-free, so we need to place our qualifying bet at tight odds, in order to minimise our qualifying loss. Only losing bets will be refunded in the event that a penalty is awarded, so we need to place our qualifying bet on a selection that we don’t think will win.

We are able to claim one free bet per fixture so it’s possible to place a qualifying bet on multiple games. It’s entirely up to you how many games you go for, but I wouldn’t recommend going for too many as it may arouse suspicion. I’ll be sticking to the games involving Manchester City (Tuesday), Celtic (Wednesday) and West Ham (Thursday).

Having looked at the odds available for Steaua Bucharest v Manchester City, I’ve opted to place my qualifying bet on a 0-0 draw.

I like to place my exchange lay bets with Smarkets as they have great liquidity, the site is really easy to use and they only charge 2% commission in comparison to the 5% charged by other betting exchanges.

We can calculate our lay stake using my matched betting calculator…

Place £25.00 on a 0-0 draw @ 13.00 = Potential profit of £300.00

smarkets whiteLay £22.44 on a 0-0 draw @ 14.50 = Potential liability of £303.00

Let’s have a look at our potential profit/loss for the possible outcomes…

0-0 draw + £300.00 – £303.00 = £3.00 loss
Not a 0-0 draw and penalty awarded – £25.00 + £22.00 + £23.75 (extract 95% from our £25.00 stake refund) = £20.75 profit
Not a 0-0 draw and no penalty awarded – £25.00 + £22.00 = £3.00 loss

So, if the game isn’t a 0-0 draw and a penalty is awarded, we will make a nice profit of £20.75. If the game is a 0-0 draw or there is no penalty awarded, we’ll have made a loss of £3.00. Risking £3.00 to make a profit of £20.75, gives us effective odds of 7.92, so given the fact that the odds of a penalty being awarded are around 4.00, this is a profitable offer in the long run.

If we can find similar odds on the Celtic and West Ham games, we stand to make a potential overall profit of £62.25 on this 188BET offer. I will update the bottom of this post with my actual selections for those two games once they have been played.

Stake refunds just need rolling over once at minimum odds of 1.90 or greater before we are able to withdraw. The above calculations are therefore based on the assumption that, by using straightforward matched betting, we should be able to extract 95% cash from our £25.00 stake refund.

To claim our stake refund, we must email the promotion code ‘CHAMPPEN’, our bet ID number and our 188BET member code to promo@188service.com using our registered email address by 23:59 (GMT) on Friday 19th August 2016. Free bets will be credited within 48 hours of a successful claim being submitted.

* I placed my other two qualifying bets on Celtic 2-1 Hapoel Be’er Sheva at back odds of 9.60 and lay odds of 11.00 and Astra Giurgiu 2-1 West Ham at back odds of 17.00 and lay odds of 20.00. Penalties were awarded in the Manchester City and West Ham games, meaning I made an overall profit of £36.77 on this 188BET offer. *
