Betfred Free Bet Offer – Man City v Man Utd

Another nice in-play offer from Betfred.  Place an In Play bet of £10.00 or more (at odds of 1/2 or greater) on Manchester City v Manchester United, and if it loses, Betfred will give us a £10.00 free bet.  Translated into matched betting terms, this gives us an estimated profit of £6.10 and here’s how…

Qualifying Bet:

If you’re unfamiliar with qualifying bets, please see my Qualifying Bet Strategy page for a walkthrough guide on how to place your qualifying bets.

We need our qualifying bet to lose in order to receive our free bet. We therefore need to place our qualifying bet at fairly long odds and hope it doesn’t come in. As the qualifying bet is an in-play bet, we won’t know what odds are available until the game has kicked off, but the following odds will give you an idea of how this offer might work out.

betfred

Place £10.00 on 1-0 Man Utd @ 17.00 = Potential profit of £160.00

betfair

Lay £8.52 on 1-0 Man Utd @ 20.00 = Potential liability of £161.88

Let’s have a look at our potential profit/loss for the two outcomes…

1-0 Man Utd +£160.00 – £161.88 = £1.88 loss
Not 1-0 Man Utd -£10.00 + £8.10 (£8.52 minus 5% commission) = £1.90 loss + £10.00 free bet

So as long as Manchester United don’t win 1-0, we would lose £1.90 in qualifying for our £10.00 free bet.  If they were to win by a 1-0 scoreline, we would lose £1.88 and not receive a free bet.

Free Bet:

If our in-play bet loses, our free bet will be credited within 24 hours.  By using straightforward matched betting, we should be able to extract at least 80% of the free bet, so approximately £8.00.  If we take into consideration our estimated qualifying loss of £1.90, we should make around £6.10 profit on this offer.

If you’re not sure how to extract 80% of the £10.00 free bet refund, please see my Free Bet Strategy page for a walkthrough guide on how it should be done.
