It’s a super Sunday and Betsafe are running a fantastic price boost offer, perfect for the matched bettor. They’re offering 3.50 (boosted from 2.75) on Chelsea and Manchester City to both win today. Translated into matched betting terms, this gives us a potential risk-free profit of £10.03 and here’s how…
Price Boost Bet:
We will all have differing maximum stakes imposed on our Betsafe accounts, but the maximum stake I was able to place was £22.00.
Place £22.00 on Chelsea and Man City to win @ 3.50 = Potential profit of £55.00
Match 1: Chelsea v Crystal Palace (13:30 kick-off)
On the first match, we have to cover our original stake of £22.00. If we divide £22.00 by 0.95 (to account for the 5% Betfair commission), this gives us a lay stake of £23.16.
Lay £23.16 on Chelsea @ 1.34 = Potential liability of £7.87
| If Chelsea win | – £7.87 = -£7.87 |
| If Chelsea don’t win | – £22.00 + £22.00 = £0.00 |
So if Chelsea don’t win, the offer will be over and we’ll have broken even. However, if Chelsea do win, we will lose £7.87. This means on the next match we will have to cover both the £7.87 loss and the original stake of £22.00. If we divide £29.87 by 0.95 (to account for the 5% Betfair commission), this gives us a lay stake of £31.44.
Match 2: Tottenham v Manchester City (16:00 kick-off)
Lay £31.44 on Man City @ 2.18 = Potential liability of £37.10
| If Man City win | – £7.87 – £37.10 + £55.00 = £10.03 profit |
| If Man City don’t win | – £22.00 – £7.87 + £29.87 = £0.00 |
So if either Chelsea or Manchester City don’t win, we’ll have broken even overall. However, if both Chelsea and Manchester City do win, we’ll have made a nice profit of £10.03!
There is of course the option of simply laying the Chelsea/Man City double on the Betfair Exchange. The lay odds at the time of writing are 3.05 so by doing it that way, you could guarantee £2.40 profit, however, the method I have set out above is by far the most profitable in the long run.
