We need to place our qualifying bets on selections that don’t see the games resulting in a draw. This ensures that if the match is drawn, we will automatically be eligible for a free bet refund as our qualifying bet will have lost.

It’s entirely up to you what you place your qualifying bets on. Having looked at the odds available for the Real Madrid v Roma game, I’ve opted to place my qualifying bet on Real Madrid/Real Madrid in the Half-time/Full-time market.

Place £25.00 on Real Madrid/Real Madrid @ 2.05 = Potential profit of £26.25
Lay £23.95 on Real Madrid/Real Madrid @ 2.16 = Potential liability of £27.78
Let’s have a look at our potential profit/loss for the possible outcomes…

| Not Real Madrid/Real Madrid and game drawn | – £25.00 + £23.47 + £20.00 (extract 80% from our £25.00 free bet) = £18.47 profit |

So, if the match is a draw, we will make a nice profit of £18.47. Any other outcome and we’ll have lost £1.53. Risking £1.53 to make a profit of £18.47, gives us effective odds of 13.07, so given the fact that the odds of a draw are only 5.25, this is a profitable offer over time.
