BetStars Offer – England v Russia

England get their Euro 2016 campaign underway on Saturday and BetStars are getting in on the action! Place a pre-match bet on England v Russia and if England lose, BetStars will refund losing First/Last Goalscorer, Player to score 2 goals or more, Player to score a hat-trick and Correct Score bets as a free bet up to a maximum of £10.00. Translated into matched betting terms, this gives us a potential profit of £6.88 and here’s how…

Qualifying Bet:

If you’re unfamiliar with qualifying bets, please see my Qualifying Bet Strategy page for a walk-through guide on how they should be done.

We need to place our qualifying bet on a selection that doesn’t see Russia beating England. This ensures that if Russia beat England, we will automatically be eligible for a free bet refund as our qualifying bet will have lost.

It’s entirely up to you what you place your qualifying bets on. Having looked at the odds available, I’ve opted to place my qualifying bet on a 0-0 draw.

I like to place my exchange lay bets with Smarkets as they have great liquidity, the site is really easy to use and they only charge 2% commission in comparison to the 5% charged by other betting exchanges.

We can calculate our lay stake using my matched betting calculator…

As you can see, the calculator tells us that our lay stake should be £9.06…

Place £10.00 on a 0-0 draw @ 8.50 = Potential profit of £75.00

smarkets whiteLay £9.06 on a 0-0 draw @ 9.40 = Potential liability of £76.12

Let’s have a look at our potential profit/loss for the possible outcomes…

0-0 draw + £75.00 – £76.12 = £1.12 loss
Not 0-0 draw and England lose – £10.00 + £8.88 + £8.00 (extract 80% from our £10.00 free bet) = £6.88 profit
Not 0-0 draw and England don’t lose – £10.00 + £8.88 = £1.12 loss

So, if England lose to Russia, we’ll have made a profit of £6.88. Any other result and we’ll have made a loss of £1.12. Risking £1.12 to make £6.88 profit, gives us effective odds of 7.14, so given that the odds of a Russia win are 4.60, this is a profitable offer in the long run.

Our free bet will be credited within 48 hours of the match ending and will expire after 7 days.

If you’re unsure how to extract 80% of our £10.00 free bet, check out my Free Bet Strategy page for a walk-through guide on how it should be done.
