BetStars Offer – Europa League Quarter-Final 1st Legs

The Europa League Quarter-Finals get underway tonight and the BetStars money-back special continues! Place a pre-match bet on any of tonight’s Europa League fixtures and if the match ends in a draw, BetStars will refund losing Match Result & Both Teams To Score, First/Last Goalscorer, Correct Score and Half-Time/Full-Time bets as a free bet up to a maximum of £25.00 per match. Translated into matched betting terms, this gives us a potential profit of £73.52 and here’s how…

Qualifying Bets:

If you’re unfamiliar with qualifying bets, please see my Qualifying Bet Strategy page for a walk-through guide on how they should be done.

We need to place our qualifying bets on selections that don’t see the games resulting in a draw. This ensures that if the match is drawn, we will automatically be eligible for a free bet refund as our qualifying bet will have lost.

Tonight’s eligible matches are as follows…

Fixture Kick-off Date
Athletic Bilbao v Sevilla 20:05 Thursday 7th April 2016
Borussia Dortmund v Liverpool 20:05 Thursday 7th April 2016
Villareal v Sparta Prague 20:05 Thursday 7th April 2016
Sporting Braga v Shakhtar Donetsk 20:05 Thursday 7th April 2016

It’s entirely up to you what you place your qualifying bets on. Having looked at the odds available for the Borussia Dortmund v Liverpool game, I’ve opted to place my qualifying bet on Borussia Dortmund/Borussia Dortmund in the Half-time/Full-time market.

I like to place my exchange lay bets with Smarkets as they have great liquidity, the site is really easy to use and they only charge 2% commission in comparison to the 5% charged by other betting exchanges.

We can calculate our lay stake using my matched betting calculator…

Place £25.00 on Dortmund/Dortmund @ 2.50 = Potential profit of £37.50

smarkets whiteLay £23.85 on Dortmund/Dortmund @ 2.64 = Potential liability of £39.12

Let’s have a look at our potential profit/loss for the possible outcomes…

Dortmund/Dortmund + £37.50 – £39.12 = £1.62 loss
Not Dortmund/Dortmund and game drawn – £25.00 + £23.38 + £20.00 (extract 80% from our £25.00 free bet) = £18.38 profit
Not Dortmund/Dortmund and game not drawn – £25.00 + £23.38 = £1.62 loss

So, if the match is a draw, we will make a nice profit of £18.38. Any other outcome and we’ll have lost £1.62. Risking £1.62 to make a profit of £18.38, gives us effective odds of 12.35, so given the fact that the odds of a draw are only 4.10, this is a very profitable offer over time.

This offer is available on all four Europa League matches tonight, giving us a potential overall profit of £73.52 on this BetStars offer. I’ll update the bottom of this post with my actual profit/loss after the matches have been played.

Free bets will be credited within 48 hours of the matches ending and will expire after 7 days. If you’re unsure how to extract 80% of our £25.00 free bets, check out my Free Bet Strategy page for a walk-through guide on how it should be done.

NOTE: I’ve opted to keep things simple for this blog post and let it run as above, but there is an option to make this offer risk-free by placing an extra lay bet on the draw at Smarkets. If you want to make it risk-free, you can divide your potential loss of £1.62 by 0.98 to give you a lay stake of £1.65. At the time of writing, the draw lay odds are 4.40, giving you a risk-free shot at £12.77. There is also the option to lay a larger amount to give you a guaranteed profit regardless of the outcome.

* My total qualifying loss for this offer was £11.00. Dortmund v Liverpool was the only match to end in a draw (1-1), meaning I made an overall profit of £9.00 on this BetStars offer. *
