BoyleSports Offer – Real Madrid v Barcelona

It’s El Clasico tonight at the Bernabeu and BoyleSports are running a mobile offer that’s worth a look! Place a £20.00 bet on the Match Betting market for Real Madrid v Barcelona and BoyleSports will give us a £10.00 free bet to use on the First Goalscorer market. Translated into matched betting terms, this gives us a potential profit of £32.77 and here’s how…

Qualifying Bet:

If you’re unfamiliar with qualifying bets, please see my Qualifying Bet Strategy page for a walk-through guide on how they should be done.

Qualifying bets must be placed pre-match on the Match Betting market via the BoyleSports app/mobile site (on a mobile device). Having looked at the odds available, I’ve opted to place my qualifying bet on a draw.

I like to place my exchange lay bets with Smarkets as they have great liquidity, the site is really easy to use and they only charge 2% commission in comparison to the 5% charged by other betting exchanges.

We can calculate our lay stake using the following matched betting calculator…

As you can see, the calculator tells us that our lay stake should be £19.84…

Place £20.00 on a draw @ 3.75 = Potential profit of 55.00

smarkets white

Lay £19.84 on a draw @ 3.80 = Potential liability of £55.56

Let’s have a look at our potential profit/loss for the two potential outcomes…

Draw + £55.00 – £55.56 = £0.56 loss
Not a draw -£20.00 + £19.44 = £0.56 loss

So we will lose £0.56 in qualifying for our £10.00 free bet.

Free Bet:

Our £10.00 free bet will be credited as soon as we place our qualifying bet.

It’s always difficult to extract cash from a free bet on first goalscorer markets, purely because the odds and liquidity at the betting exchange are usually pretty poor. I’ve therefore opted to use this free bet as a punt on Cristiano Ronaldo at odds of 4.333.

If Ronaldo scores first, we will make a profit of £33.33. If we take into account our qualifying loss of £0.56, this gives us a potential profit of £32.77!
