Coral Offer – Knocked out on Penalties?

Euro 2016 gets underway on Friday 10th June 2016 and Coral are getting in on the action! Simply bet on a team to win Euro 2016 and if they get knocked out on penalties, Coral will refund us as a free bet up to a maximum of £25.00. Translated into matched betting terms, this gives us a potential profit of £19.15 and here’s how…

Qualifying Bet:

If you’re unfamiliar with qualifying bets, please see my Qualifying Bet Strategy page for a walk-through guide on how they should be done.

Qualifying bets must be placed between 08:00 on Wednesday 1st June 2016 and 20:00 on Friday 10th June 2016, to be eligible.

It’s entirely up to you who you place your qualifying bet on, but having looked at the odds available, I’ve opted to place my qualifying bet on Germany.

I like to place my exchange lay bets with Smarkets as they have great liquidity, the site is really easy to use and they only charge 2% commission in comparison to the 5% charged by other betting exchanges.

You can find the Euro 2016 outright market by entering ‘Euro 2016’ in the search box at the top of the homepage or by using the following link trail…

Smarkets > Football > Outright > Euro 2016

We can work out our lay stake by entering our odds into my matched betting calculator…

Place £25.00 on Germany @ 5.50 = Potential profit of £112.50

smarkets white

Lay £24.64 on Germany @ 5.60 = Potential liability of £113.35

Let’s have a look at our potential profit/loss for the two outcomes…

Germany win + £112.50 – £113.35 = £0.85 loss
Germany knocked out on penalties – £25.00 + £24.15 + £20.00 (extract 80% from £25.00 free bet) = £19.15 profit
Germany knocked out by other means – £25.00 + £24.15 = £0.85 loss

So, if Germany get knocked out of Euro 2016 on penalties, we will make a nice profit of £19.15. If Germany win Euro 2016 or get knocked out by any method other than penalties, we’ll have made a loss of £0.85. Risking £0.85 to make a profit of £19.15, gives us effective odds of 23.53, so given that the odds of Germany getting knocked out of Euro 2016 on penalties are 4.333, this is a very profitable offer in the long run.

In the event that our team is knocked out on penalties, our free bet will be credited within 24 hours of them being eliminated. Free bets will be valid for 4 days and the free bet stake is not included in any returns.

If you’re unsure how to extract 80% of any free bet as cash, please see my free bet strategy page for a walk-through guide on how it should be done.
