Our in play bet will be risk-free. This means that we are required to place the in-play bet using our own funds and if this in play bet loses, Ladbrokes will refund it in full in cash (which is withdrawable straight away). It is worth noting that although the current odds for the draw (at the time of writing) are 3.50, this will usually drop slightly when the game kicks off and therefore I have adjusted the odds accordingly in the workings for the following example…
Place £33.33 (pre-match) on Man City @ 1.80 = Returns £59.99
Place £25.00 (in-play) on a draw @ 3.40 = Returns £85.00
Place £10.91 (pre-match) on Juventus @ 5.50 = Returns £60.01
I’d like to add at this point that it’s always best to stick to round numbers when placing your bets as odd amounts such as £33.33 can easily be flagged up as a matched bet. You could instead place £25.00 on Man City with Ladbrokes and then place an extra £8.00 on Man City with another bookmaker, especially if you can get better odds elsewhere. Similarly, with the Juventus bet, I would stick to round numbers and place £10.00 instead.

As you can see, no matter what the result of the game, we stand to make a guaranteed minimum profit of £15.75 on this Ladbrokes in play offer! How long did that take? 10 minutes?
If the odds change between now and kick-off, which is almost a certainty, it’s really easy to recalculate your pre-match stakes.
Start by working out your returns on the in play draw bet. So if the draw odds have changed to 3.50, your returns on the draw would now be £87.50
To work out your stakes on Man City and Juventus, you need to subtract the £25.00 refund from the £87.50 which gives you £62.50. All you then have to do is divide the £62.50 by the odds (in decimal form) for both Man City and Juventus to get your respective pre-match stakes. Any problems, just give me a shout!
