Paddy Power In Play Offer – Man Utd v Bournemouth & Chelsea v Leicester

The Paddy Power in play offer continues this weekend! Simply place a single bet of £20.00 or more pre-match on Manchester United v Bournemouth and/or Chelsea v Leicester City and Paddy Power will give us £10.00 worth of free bets to be used in play on each match. Translated into matched betting terms, this gives us a guaranteed profit of £12.60 and here’s how…

Qualifying Bets:

If you’re unfamiliar with qualifying bets, please see my Qualifying Bet Strategy page for a walk-through guide on how they should be done.

This weekend’s eligible matches are as follows…

Fixture Kick-Off Date
Man Utd v Bournemouth 15:00 Sunday 15th May 2016
Chelsea v Leicester City 15:00 Sunday 15th May 2016

It’s entirely up to you what you place your qualifying bets on, as long as you place them at the minimum odds of 1.50 (1/2) or above.

WARNING: Following the recent merger between Paddy Power and Betfair, to become Paddy Power Betfair, it’s no longer a good idea to place our lay bets with Betfair as this will surely increase our chances of getting restricted. Therefore, when doing Paddy Power offers, we need to place our lay bets with Smarkets. They have great liquidity, the site is really easy to use and they only charge 2% commission in comparison to the 5% charged by Betfair. We can also grab a £10.00 risk-free bet, just for signing up.

We can calculate our lay stakes using the matched betting calculator.

paddypowerAim to lose no more than £1.20 on each of our qualifying bets

So we will lose £2.40 in qualifying for our £20.00 worth of free bets.

Free Bets:

Our £10.00 free bets will be credited as 2 x £5.00 free bet tokens and will appear in our accounts within 5 minutes of each game kicking off.

It’s impossible to know what odds will be available until the matches have kicked off but by using straightforward matched betting, we should be able to extract 75% out of the 4 x £5.00 free bets as cash, so £15.00. If we take into account our qualifying loss of £2.40, this gives us a guaranteed profit of £12.60!

Extracting profit from our free bets can be a little tricky when betting in play. My advice is to wait until half-time to place your free bets and then lay them at Smarkets. This is simply because the odds don’t fluctuate as much as when the game is live. There’s nothing worse than placing a free bet on a market and then something happens in the game that changes the odds before you have chance to get your lay bet on! I tend to look at the correct score markets first and then if I can’t find anything suitable I move onto goal scorer markets.

If you can’t wait until half-time, you might want to look at placing them on 1-1, 2-1 or 3-1 whilst the score is at 0-0. By selecting a scoreline where both teams score, it reduces the risk of the odds fluctuating unfavourably.

* The Manchester United v Bournemouth match was postponed and will not be replayed until 20:00 on Tuesday 17th May 2016. Therefore, all bets on that match are void and so we were only able to make £6.30 profit on this Paddy Power offer. *
