Paddy Power Offer – Real Madrid v Atletico Madrid

Real Madrid face Atletico Madrid in the Champions League Final 2016 on Saturday and Paddy Power are getting in on the action! Simply place a single bet of £20.00 or more pre-match on Real Madrid v Atletico Madrid and Paddy Power will give us £10.00 worth of free bets to be used in play on the match. Translated into matched betting terms, this gives us a guaranteed profit of £6.30 and here’s how…

Qualifying Bet:

If you’re unfamiliar with qualifying bets, please see my Qualifying Bet Strategy page for a walk-through guide on how they should be done.

It’s entirely up to you what you place your qualifying bet on, as long as you place it at the minimum odds of 1.50 (1/2) or above.

WARNING: Following the recent merger between Paddy Power and Betfair, to become Paddy Power Betfair, it’s no longer a good idea to place our lay bets with Betfair as this will surely increase our chances of getting restricted. Therefore, when doing Paddy Power offers, we need to place our lay bets with Smarkets. They have great liquidity, the site is really easy to use and they only charge 2% commission in comparison to the 5% charged by Betfair. We can also grab a £10.00 risk-free bet, just for signing up.

We can calculate our lay stakes using the matched betting calculator.

paddypowerAim to lose no more than £1.20 on our qualifying bet

Free Bets:

Our £10.00 free bets will be credited as 2 x £5.00 free bet tokens and will appear in our accounts within 5 minutes of the game kicking off (19:45 on Saturday 28th May 2016).

It’s impossible to know what odds will be available until the match has kicked off but by using straightforward matched betting, we should be able to extract 75% out of the 2 x £5.00 free bets as cash, so £7.50. If we take into account our qualifying loss of £1.20, this gives us a guaranteed profit of £6.30!

Extracting profit from our free bets can be a little tricky when betting in play. My advice is to wait until half-time to place your free bets and then lay them at Smarkets. This is simply because the odds don’t fluctuate as much as when the game is live. There’s nothing worse than placing a free bet on a market and then something happens in the game that changes the odds before you have chance to get your lay bet on! I tend to look at the correct score markets first and then if I can’t find anything suitable I move onto goal scorer markets.

If you can’t wait until half-time, you might want to look at placing them on 1-1, 2-1 or 3-1 whilst the score is at 0-0. By selecting a scoreline where both teams score, it reduces the risk of the odds fluctuating unfavourably.
