Sun Bets Offer – Second Half, Second Chance

It’s Week 10 of the Premier League 2016/17 season and you don’t want to miss this Sun Bets offer! Simply place a First Goalscorer bet on any Premier League game televised on Sky or BT, and if our bet has lost by half-time, Sun Bets will refund our stake as a free bet up to £10.00. Translated into matched betting terms, this gives us an overall potential profit of £30.00 and here’s how…

Qualifying Bets:

This weekend’s eligible matches are as follows…

Fixture Kick-Off Date
Sunderland v Arsenal 12:30 Saturday 29th October 2016
Crystal Palace v Liverpool 17:30 Saturday 29th October 2016
Everton v West Ham 13:30 Sunday 30th October 2016
Southampton v Chelsea 16:00 Sunday 30th October 2016
Stoke v Swansea 20:00 Monday 31st October 2016

If you’re unfamiliar with qualifying bets, please see my Qualifying Bet Strategy page for a walk-through guide on how it should be done.

If our First Goalscorer bet has lost by half-time, Sun Bets will refund our stake as a free bet up to £10.00.

Having looked at the odds available for Sunderland v Arsenal, I’ve opted to place my qualifying bet on Alexis Sanchez.

We’ll need to lay our First Goalscorer bets on the Betfair Exchange.

We can calculate our lay stake using my matched betting calculator…

Place £10.00 on Alexis Sanchez @ 4.50 = Potential profit of £35.00

betfair

Lay £9.68 on Alexis Sanchez @ 4.70 = Potential liability of £35.81

Let’s have a look at our potential profit/loss for the possible outcomes…

Sanchez scores first + £35.00 – £35.81 = £0.81 loss
Someone else scores first before half-time – £10.00 + £9.19 + £8.00 (extract 80% from £10.00 free bet) = £7.19 profit
Someone else scores first after half-time – £10.00 + £9.19 = £0.81 loss

So, if any player other than Alexis Sanchez scores first before half-time, we will make a nice profit of £7.19. If, however, Alexis Sanchez scores first or the score is 0-0 at half-time, we’ll have made a small loss of £0.81. Risking £0.81 to make a profit of £7.19, gives us effective odds of 9.88, which I’m sure you’ll agree, makes this a profitable offer in the long run.

This offer is available on all five televised matches. It’s entirely up to you which selections you go for.

I’ll update the following table with my selections throughout the weekend…

Fixture Selection Back Odds Lay Odds Qualifying Loss Potential Profit
Sunderland v Arsenal Sanchez 4.50 4.70 £0.81 £7.19
Crystal Palace v Liverpool Firmino 5.75 7.60 £2.76 £5.24
Everton v West Ham Lukaku 4.333 5.50 £2.45 £5.55
Southampton v Chelsea Costa 5.00 6.20 £2.28 £5.72
Stoke v Swansea Bony 5.50 6.40 £1.77 £6.23

So, as you can see, we’ll lose a couple of quid on each bet that doesn’t come off, but with approximately £6.00 profit per game up for grabs, this offer is well worth a shot!
