Unibet World Cup Offer – £50.00 Risk-Free Bet

It’s time for a Unibet World Cup offer!  For every £50.00 we bet on the French Open tennis, Unibet will give us £10.00 worth of risk-free bets to use on the World Cup in Brazil.  We can earn a maximum risk-free bet of £50.00 by betting £250.00 on the French Open before it finishes on 8th June 2014.  Translated into matched betting terms, this gives us a potential profit of £25.04 and here’s how…

Qualifying Bet:

We must opt-in to this offer prior to placing our qualifying bets.  The terms and conditions of the offer state that our qualifying bets must be placed at minimum odds of 2.00.  It’s entirely up to you, which match(es) you place your qualifying bets on but I’ve opted to place mine on Gael Monfils to win his third round match against Fabio Fognini.

unibet

Place £250.00 on Monfils @ 2.00 = Potential profit of £250.00

betfair

Lay £251.26 on Monfils @ 2.04 = Potential liability of £261.31

Let’s have a look at our potential profit/loss for the two outcomes…

Monfils wins

+£250.00 – £261.31 = £11.31 loss

Monfils doesn’t win

-£250.00 + £238.69 = £11.31 loss

So regardless of the result we will lose £11.31 in order to qualify for our £50.00 risk-free bet.

Risk-Free Bet:

We will receive our risk-free bet in our account by Wednesday 11th June 2014 and we must accept this before placing our risk-free bet on the World Cup.  We need our risk-free bet to lose so that we are given the refund of £50.00 and so it makes sense that we place our bet on an outcome with fairly long odds.  Having looked at the odds on offer, I’ve decided to place mine on Croatia to beat Brazil in the World Cup opener.

unibet

Place £50.00 on Croatia @ 11.00 = Potential profit of £500.00

betfair

Lay £40.89 on Croatia @ 13.50 = Potential liability of £511.13

Let’s have a look at our overall profit/loss…

Croatia win

+£500.00 – £511.13 – £11.31 (qualifying loss) = £22.44 loss

Croatia don’t win

-£50.00 + £38.85 – £11.31 (qualifying loss) + £47.50 (extract 95% of £50.00 refund) = £25.04 profit

So as you can see, if Croatia win at silly odds, then I’ve lost £22.44 on this offer.  However, if Croatia don’t win, then I will make a profit of around £25.04!  This is because I will receive my £50.00 refund which requires betting through once at minimum odds of 1.40.  By using straightforward matched betting and as this isn’t a free bet (it’s a bonus) we shouldn’t lose any more than £2.50 playing through it.
