Betfred Free Bet Offer – Alfred Dunhill Links

A nice in-play offer from Betfred.  Place an In Play bet of £10.00 or more (at odds of 1/2 or greater) on the 2014 Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, and if it loses, Betfred will give us a £10.00 free bet.  Translated into matched betting terms, this gives us an estimated profit of £6.48 and here’s how…

Qualifying Bet:

If you’re unfamiliar with qualifying bets, please see my Qualifying Bet Strategy page for a walkthrough guide on how to place your qualifying bets.

We need our qualifying bet to lose in order to receive our free bet. We therefore need to place our qualifying bet at fairly long odds and hope it doesn’t come in. As the qualifying bet is an in-play bet, we won’t know what odds are available until the game has kicked off, but the following odds will give you an idea of how this offer might work out.

betfred

Place £10.00 on Ryan Palmer outright @ 12.00 = Potential profit of £110.00

betfair

Lay £8.92 on Ryan Palmer outright @ 13.50 = Potential liability of £111.50

Let’s have a look at our potential profit/loss for the two outcomes…

Ryan Palmer wins +£110.00 – £111.50 = £1.50 loss
Ryan Palmer doesn’t win -£10.00 + £8.48 (£8.92 minus 5% commission) = £1.52 loss

So as long as Ryan Palmer doesn’t win the 2014 Alfred Dunhill Links, we would lose £1.52 in qualifying for our £10.00 free bet.  If he were to win the tournament, we would lose £1.50 with no free bet.

Free Bet:

If our in-play bet loses, our free bet will be credited on Monday 6th October.  By using straightforward matched betting, we should be able to extract at least 80% of the free bet, so approximately £8.00.  If we take into consideration our estimated qualifying loss of £1.52, we should make around £6.48 profit on this offer.

If you’re not sure how to extract 80% of the £10.00 free bet refund, please see my Free Bet Strategy page for a walkthrough guide on how it should be done.
