We will receive our risk-free bet in our account by Friday 26th September 2014 at 12:00pm and we must accept this before placing our risk-free bet on the Ryder Cup. We need our risk-free bet to lose so that we are given the refund of £20.00 and so it makes sense that we place our bet on an outcome with fairly long odds. Having looked at the odds on offer, I’ve decided to place mine on Henrik Stenson finishing as the top overall points scorer.
Place £20.00 on Stenson @ 19.00 = Potential profit of £360.00
Lay £17.31 on Stenson @ 22.00 = Potential liability of £363.51
Let’s have a look at our overall profit/loss…
| Stenson top scores | +£360.00 – £363.51 – £1.00 (qualifying loss) = £4.51 loss |
| Stenson doesn’t top score | -£20.00 + £16.45 – £1.00 (qualifying loss) + £18.00 (extract 90% of £20.00 refund) = £13.45 profit |
So as you can see, if Stenson top scores at silly odds, then I’ve lost £4.51 on this offer. However, if Stenson doesn’t top score, then I will make a profit of around £13.45!
