Sky Bet Offer – 1.45 Sandown

Why bother looking for horse racing tips today, when you can do a bit of matched betting and make low-risk profits?  Sky Bet are back with another First Race Special on todays horse racing.  If your horse finishes 2nd or 3rd in the 1.45 at Sandown race course, Sky Bet will refund all losing outright bets on that race as a free bet up to £25.00.  Translated into matched betting terms, this gives us a potential profit of £17.96 and here’s how…

Qualifying Bet:

If you’re unsure about how to place qualifying bets, check out my Qualifying Bet Strategy page or a walkthrough guide on how it should be done.

It’s entirely up to you which horse you go for, but it would make sense to select a horse with fairly short odds in the hope of a 2nd or 3rd placed finish.  Having looked at the odds on offer, I’ve opted to keep my qualifying loss at a minimum and place my qualifying bet on Awesome Power.  We can work out our lay stake using the matched betting calculator.

skybet

Place £25.00 on Awesome Power @ 13.00 = Potential profit of £300.00

betfair

Lay £24.16 on Awesome Power @ 13.50 = Potential liability of £302.04

Let’s have a look at our potential profit/loss for the possible outcomes…

Awesome Power wins +£300.00 – £302.04 = £2.04 loss
Awesome Power places 2nd or 3rd -£25.00 + £22.96 + £20.00 (extract 80% from our £25.00 free bet) = £17.96 profit
Awesome Power places outside top 3 -£25.00 + £22.96 = £2.04 loss

So if Awesome Power places 2nd or 3rd, we will make £17.96 profit.  Any other result and we will lose £2.04.  A £2.04 risk to make £17.96 profit gives us effective odds of 9.80.  The fact that Awesome Power is 4.00 to finish in the top 3 makes this a profitable offer in the long run.

If you’re unsure how to extract 80% of our £25.00 free bet, check out my Free Bet Strategy page for a walkthrough guide on how it should be done.

* You may have noticed that my overall profit figure for this offer is actually higher than the potential profit figure.  This is because, due to a non-runner, my odds at both Sky Bet and Betfair were adjusted, meaning I made a nice profit on this offer. *
