Sky Bet Offer – 1.45 York

Why bother looking for horse racing tips today, when you can do a bit of matched betting and make low-risk profits?  Sky Bet are back with another First Race Special on todays horse racing.  If your horse finishes 2nd or 3rd in the 1.45 at York race course, Sky Bet will refund all losing outright bets on that race as a free bet up to £25.00.  Translated into matched betting terms, this gives us a potential profit of £16.92 and here’s how…

It’s entirely up to you which horse you go for, but it would make sense to select a horse with fairly short odds in the hope of a 2nd or 3rd placed finish.  Having looked at the odds on offer, I’ve opted to place my qualifying bet on the race favourite (at the time of writing), Alfred Hutchinson.  We can work out our lay stake using the matched betting calculator.

Let’s have a look at our potential profit/loss for the possible outcomes…

So if Alfred Hutchinson places 2nd or 3rd, we will make £16.92 profit.  Any other result and we will lose £3.08. Ordinarily, I would advise laying Alfred Hutchinson to place in the top 3 but due to the number of runners in the race, the betting exchanges are offering a top 4 place market which would leave us vulnerable to a 4th placed finish.  A £3.08 risk to make £16.92 profit gives us effective odds of 6.49, so I’m sure you’ll agree, the potential profit far outweighs the potential loss, making this a profitable offer in the long run.
