Kick-off time (GMT): 30/10/2016 : 13:30

Guaranteed profit
£5.53

NFL returns to Wembley this afternoon and you don’t want to miss this Coral offer. Simply bet £10.00+ on Washington Redskins @ Cincinnati Bengals and win or lose, Coral will give us a £10.00 free bet to use on Minnesota Vikings @ Chicago Bears on Monday night. Translated into matched betting terms, this gives us a guaranteed profit of £5.53 and here’s how…

Qualifying Bet:

If you’re unfamiliar with qualifying bets, please see my Qualifying Bet Strategy page for a walk-through guide on how they should be done.

Qualifying bets must be placed at odds of 1.50 (1/2) or greater on any Washington Redskins @ Cincinnati Bengals pre-match market, between 08:00 and 13:30 today (Sunday 30th October 2016), to be eligible.

Having looked at the odds available, I’ve opted to place my qualifying bet on Cincinnati Bengals to win (Money Line).

I like to place my exchange lay bets with Smarkets as they have great liquidity, the site is really easy to use and they only charge 2% commission in comparison to the 5% charged by other betting exchanges.

We can calculate our lay stakes using my matched betting calculator…

Back Bet (Bookie)

Total profit:
+ Free bet

As you can see, the calculator tells us that our lay stake should be £9.73…

Place £10.00 on Cincinnati Bengals @ 1.615 = Potential profit of £6.15

smarkets white

Lay £9.73 on Cincinnati Bengals @ 1.68 = Potential liability of £6.62

Let’s have a look at our potential profit/loss for the possible outcomes…

Cincinnati Bengals win + £6.15 – £6.62 = £0.47 loss
Cincinnati Bengals don't win - £10.00 + £9.53 (£9.73 minus 2% commission) = £0.47 loss

So regardless of the outcome, we will lose £0.47 in qualifying for our £10.00 free bet.

Free Bet:

Our £10.00 free bet will be credited upon settlement of our qualifying bet and must be used on Minnesota Vikings @ Chicago Bears (00:30 on Tuesday 1st November 2016).

By using straightforward matched betting, we should be able to extract 60% of our £10.00 free bet as cash, so around £6.00. If we take into account our qualifying loss of £0.47, this gives us a guaranteed profit of £5.53 on this Coral offer!

Can you have a partial gubbing on Coral? I can't see this offer or the winwin get in one, but I can see other ones

    Hi Matt (or anyone else!)

    Made a massive error....

Backed CIN Bengals at 1.91 then laid in smarkets at 1.71. Then realised I hadn't backed the money line and that I had done the spread. Any suggestions of getting out of the mess?

    Thanks guys

You can back the other side at Smarkets to effectively cash out your lay bet. It doesn't look like there is a lay market for the +3.0 spread. Betfair have a +2.5 market but that's not quite the same. You may have to let your £10.00 qualifying bet run on this occasion.

So since it was a tie, smarkets voided the selection. If coral do the same, will we still get our freebie?

It seems likely. Coral's Online Sports Rules is not the easiest to read, but it gives the impression that bets will be void if there is a tie after dead heat.

Skybet's rules on this are much clearer: "If the match is a tie at the end of overtime, bets will be made void, apart from the market where the draw is offered in-play."

Not so sure about the freebie. Was talking about voiding the bets.

I've still got my freebie bet though. Everything should be fine.

I've been credited with a Monday night football £10 free bet, I assume that's it?

Do they usually void when tie? No profit now?

Doesn't look as though Corals will! So, we should get the free bet but will lose out on the overall deal!
