Betway Offer – New Zealand v Australia

New Zealand look to retain the Webb Ellis Cup tonight against Australia and Betway are getting in on the action with a great offer on the big game. Simply place a Match Winner bet and if our team is winning at half-time and go on to lose, Betway will refund losing bets as a free bet up to a maximum of £25.00. Translated into matched betting terms, this gives us a potential profit of £18.60 and here’s how…

Qualifying Bet:

If you’re unfamiliar with qualifying bets, please see my Qualifying Bet Strategy page for a walk-through guide on how they should be done.

Having looked at the odds available, I’ve opted to place my qualifying bet on Australia to win.

We can calculate our lay stakes using the matched betting calculator.

Place £25.00 on Australia @ 3.40 = Potential profit of £60.00

smarkets white

Lay £24.08 on Australia @ 3.55 = Potential liability of £61.40

Let’s have a look at our potential profit/loss for the three outcomes…

Australia are winning at half-time and go on to win +£60.00 – £61.40 = £1.40 loss
Australia are winning at half-time and go on to lose -£25.00 + £23.60 + £20.00 (80% extracted from £25.00 free bet) = £18.60 profit
Australia aren’t winning at half-time and go on to win +£60.00 – £61.40 = £1.40 loss
Australia aren’t winning at half-time and go on to lose -£25.00 + £23.60 = £1.40 loss

So if Australia are winning at half-time and go on to lose, we will make a nice profit of £18.60! Any other outcome and we will have made a loss of £1.40. Risking £1.40 to make a potential profit of £18.60 gives us effective odds of 14.29. The fact that Australia/New Zealand in the HT/FT market is only 6.50, makes this a profitable offer in the long run.

If you’re unsure how to extract 80% of our £25.00 free bet, check out my Free Bet Strategy page for a walk-through guide on how it should be done.
