Unibet Offer – Rio Olympics 2016 Men’s Tennis

Andy Murray goes for a second Olympic Gold Medal in Rio this month and Unibet are getting in on the action! If we bet on Andy Murray to win Gold and he loses in the Final, Unibet will refund our stake in cash, up to a maximum of £30.00. Translated into matched betting terms, this gives us a potential profit of £26.52 and here’s how…

Qualifying Bet:

If you’re unsure about how to place qualifying bets, check out my Qualifying Bet Strategy page for a walk-through guide on how they should be done.

Qualifying bets must be placed between 00:00 on Friday 29th July 2016 and 14:45 on Saturday 6th August 2016, to be eligible.

Qualifying bets must be placed on the Men’s Singles Outright Winner market only. Only bets with a stake up to £30.00 will be refunded. Any bet with a higher stake does not qualify for a refund.

I like to place my exchange lay bets with Smarkets as they have great liquidity, the site is really easy to use and they only charge 2% commission in comparison to the 5% charged by other betting exchanges.

We can calculate our lay stake using my matched betting calculator…

As you can see, the calculator tells us that our lay stake should be £27.06…

Place £30.00 on Andy Murray @ 3.50 = Potential profit of £75.00

smarkets white

Lay £27.06 on Andy Murray @ 3.90 = Potential liability of £78.48

Let’s have a look at our potential profit/loss for the possible outcomes…

Andy Murray wins + £75.00 – £78.48 = £3.48 loss
Andy Murray loses in the Final – £30.00 + £26.52 + £30.00 (stake refund) = £26.52 profit
Andy Murray loses before the Final – £30.00 + £26.52 = £3.48 loss

So, we will make a nice profit of £26.52 if Andy Murray loses in the Men’s Singles Final and we stand to lose £3.48 on any other outcome. Risking £3.48 to make £26.52 profit gives us effective odds of 8.62, which I’m sure you’ll agree, makes this a profitable offer in the long run.

If eligible, our stake will be refunded within 48 hours of the event completing. Refunded stakes will not be subject to any restrictions or turnaround criteria.
