Betway sign up offer help

  • Hi Guys,

I’m looking for some advise with the Betway sign up offer 100% matched deposit up to £100. I’ve been matched betting for a few months and have build up a big enough bank to go for this offer so did the full £100.

I was hoping to lose my Betway funds quickly so the offer would be over; unfortunately my first bet of £100 won and I had over £300 in my account. I then clicked on the my cash amount on their mobile site to see if it showed the WR’s and there were the T’s & C’s (which I had read before signing up on their desktop site).

But there is a difference in their terms on their mobile site and desktop site. The mobile site terms say that once wagering is complete and before any withdrawals are processed, play will be reviewed for any irregular playing patterns (that is the fine, and the same on both sites). The difference is on the mobile site that says “other examples of irregular play include placing bets equal to or in excess of 30% of more of the value of the bonus”.

My first bet was 100% of the value of the bonus… £100. I have checked the desktop sites terms and that line isn’t in there but I am now worried that if I play through the bonus just limiting myself to £30 bets and try to withdraw at the end, will they decline it?

Sorry for the long post but thought I’d try and give as much info as I could. And I hope someone here can offer some good advice/thoughts on this.

    Thanks
    Dan S

  • New to matched betting?

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

Despite all the warnings people still persist in playing this horrific offer.

So you have £300 in your account which you won with your own money and £100 bonus. If you haven’t bet with the bonus yet, could you just take the £300 and forfeit the bonus.
Doesn’t the 30% rule just apply to the bonus. You can bet as much as you like with your own money.

This was one of the easier rollovers.

    Hi Sleepless,

    One of their terms says:

“Any winnings made after acceptance of a Bonus offer may only be withdrawn once the full wagering requirements have been met. Should You wish to withdraw the balance of your initial deposit prior to meeting the wagering requirements, You may do so by forfeiting the Bonus and all winnings. If you wish to do so, please contact Customer Support.”

So I could probably withdraw my £100 but I actually have around £400 in there now as I bet £30 on the draw Burnley v Chelsea game!!

Do I bite the bullet and lose £300 or should I email them pointing out it doesn’t say about the 30% rule on their desktop site or maybe play through the bonus playing Blackjack perfect strategy so as not to invest any more of my exchange money. Blackjack only contributes to 8% though so would take a looong time and I might lose the lot.

I don’t know how best to handle it.

    There again
    6. A customer may withdraw funds from their cash account at any time, prior to meeting the wagering requirements. In this instance, any remaining funds in the Bonus Account are forfeited and the Bonus Account balance is reset to zero.”

Don’t lose the £300 – check that you would with LC.

Their horse odds are quite good (I got thru’ my RO with £100 bets in 2 weeks) so you can get arbs easy. Min odds 1.75 so you could underlay football for no QL. They’ve had some decent promos lately too. Champions League coming up next week.

Worst case. You need to bet another £900 at £30 a go. You’ve got 60days to do 30 bets. That will take you into Cheltenham. As long as you’ve the exchange funds.

    Best of luck

I thought I’d give a quick update for anyone who’s interested.

I contacted support, explaining the above and below is the response I received.

    Hi Daniel

Thank you for contacting Betway Support

We hope this email finds you well and good luck with all your future bets!

Your play will only be reviewed and found to be abusive if you continually place bets in breach of the term regarding the 30% of balance.

If you have done so a few times but have other bets of less than 30% it will demonstrate usual gameplay patterns.

Also, the term applies to all bets as long as a bonus is on the account, even if the cash only is used.

The term provided some examples of irregular play. There are many facets that are reviewed, but if you utilize your account in a good way without attempting to gain favour by hedgebetting and such, your account will be safe from confiscation or witholding as per terms.

Should you require any further assistance feel free to contact our friendly help desk. We are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for your convenience.

    Kind regards,
    Emile

    All the best,

    The Betway Team

So according to that, all is good and I’m going to have to stick to smaller bets as my first bets won and will just play through the bonus.

I will probably underlay on close odds around the 1.75 mark until I get through the remaing £870.

    Thanks for your help Sleepless

Not so bad after all then. Betway was one of the better ones.
Mistake people make is they put on a high odds bet hoping to lose it in one go. Trouble is they don’t and end up with loads in the bookie and the bookie then “plays dirty”. By betting on evens you shouldn’t have to keep funding the account – in theory you’ll win half the time. Bit time consuming, but you’ll get some good arbs and promos.

I agree; I completed the Bwin offer recently by backing/laying at lower odds and got through it quickly.

Incidentally, my first bet with Betway was BTTS no – Liverpool v Tottenham because I was “sure” they would both score! The QL was smaller on yes but I went with the opposite of what I thought was going to happen, to try and lose, rather than the smallest QL.

Oh well you live and learn.
