Many Clouds

  • What an awful thing… 🙁 Had a cracking battle with Thistlecrack up the Cheltenham hill and duly won. For then to collapse and die.

The bloody ups and downs of racing. Going from euphoria to total devastation

Yes, quite. He’d just won me £50 with that win. Very sad news.

Indeed – he cost me a packet today by pipping Thistlecrack on the line, but what happened next was just tragic and very sad 🙁

Devastating, the fatality rate in horse racing is very low considering amount of horses that race each day but it does seem to happen at Cheltenham more often that anywhere else. Hope they can look in to the the race track itself, amount of fences and their height etc.

RIP Many Clouds, a true great.

I don’t think you can blame Cheltenham or their fences. He won the National at Aintree over 4m 4f. He had history of collapsing and needing oxygen. Just so Sad he could not be saved. ?

Cheltenham is a more gruelling course to run than Aintree. I personally dont think he should have been raced over 3 miles. Won one National, completed another, didnt need to go out and do anything else. Poor guy.
