Ladbrokes Offer – Snooker World Championship 2017

The Snooker World Championship 2017 gets underway on Saturday and Ladbrokes are getting in on the action. Simply bet £10.00+ on any player to win the tournament outright and every time they make a century break, Ladbrokes will give us a £2.00 free bet. Translated into matched betting terms, this gives us a potential profit of £14.67 and here’s how…

Qualifying Bet:

If you’re unfamiliar with qualifying bets, please see my Qualifying Bet Strategy page for a walk-through guide on how they should be done.

Qualifying bets must be placed between 08:00 on Friday 14th April 2017 and 10:00 on Saturday 15th April 2017, to be eligible.

It’s entirely up to you who you place your qualifying bet on but it makes sense to go for a player with fairly low odds to minimise our qualifying losses.

Having looked at the odds available, I’ve opted to place my qualifying bet on Ronnie O’Sullivan.

I like to place my exchange lay bets with Smarkets as they have great liquidity in the run up to races, the site is really easy to use and they only charge 2% commission in comparison to the 5% charged by other betting exchanges.

We can calculate our lay stake using my matched betting calculator…

As you can see, the calculator tells us that our lay stake should be £8.85…

Ladbrokes Logo

Place £10.00 on Ronnie O’Sullivan @ 6.00 = Potential profit of £50.00

Smarkets Logo

Lay £8.85 on Ronnie O’Sullivan @ 6.80 = Potential liability of £51.33

Let’s have a look at our potential profit/loss for the two outcomes…

Ronnie O’Sullivan wins + £50.00 – £51.33 = £1.33 loss
Ronnie O’Sullivan doesn’t win -£10.00 + £8.67 (£8.85 minus 2% commission) = £1.33 loss

So, regardless of who wins the tournament, we’ll lose £1.33 in qualifying for our potential free bets.

Free Bets:

For every century break that Ronnie O’Sullivan makes, we’ll receive a £2.00 free bet within 24 hours. Free bets will be valid for 7 days and free bet stakes are not included with any returns.

By using straightforward matched betting, we should be able to extract 80% of any free bets as cash.

Therefore, if Ronnie O’Sullivan makes 10 century breaks, we’ll receive £20.00 in free bets, from which we can extract £16.00 cash. If we take into account our qualifying loss of £1.33, this gives us a potential profit of £14.67 on this Ladbrokes offer!

* Ronnie O’Sullivan made 6 century breaks during the tournament, meaning I made a profit of £8.27 on this Ladbrokes offer. *
