Totesport Offer – 2016 Masters Snooker

The 2016 Masters snooker gets underway this afternoon and Totesport are getting in on the action. Place a bet on the Masters Outright market and every time our player makes a century break, Totesport will give us a free bet. Translated into matched betting terms, this gives us a potential profit of £16.59 and here’s how…

Qualifying Bet:

If you’re unfamiliar with qualifying bets, please see my Qualifying Bet Strategy page for a walk-through guide on how they should be done.

Stakes between £10.00 and £24.99 will be eligible for a £2.00 free bet for every century break our player makes and stakes of £25.00+ will be eligible for a £5.00 free bet for every century break our player makes. Therefore, to maximise our potential profit, it makes sense to stake £25.00 as our qualifying bet.

It’s entirely up to you who you place your qualifying bet on but it makes sense to go for a player with fairly low odds to minimise our qualifying losses. Qualifying bets must be placed before 13:00 today (Sunday 10th January 2015) to be eligible.

At the time of writing, the lay odds are pretty poor so I’ll use fictional odds in the following example and then I’ll update the post on Sunday with my actual selection.

We can work out our lay stake by entering our odds into my matched betting calculator…

Place £25.00 on Ronnie O’Sullivan @ 4.50 = Potential profit of £87.50

betfair

Lay £22.73 on Ronnie O’Sullivan @ 5.00 = Potential liability of £90.91

Let’s have a look at our potential profit/loss for the two outcomes…

Ronnie O’Sullivan wins +£87.50 – £90.91 = £3.41 loss
Ronnie O’Sullivan doesn’t win -£25.00 + £21.59 (£22.73 minus 5% commission) = £3.41 loss

So regardless of who wins the tournament, we will lose £3.41 in qualifying for this offer.

Free Bets:

For every century break that O’Sullivan makes, we will get a £5.00 free bet credited within 24 hours. Therefore, if O’Sullivan were to make 5 century breaks, we would receive £25.00 in free bets. We can then extract 80% of these as cash, so £20.00.

If we take into account our qualifying loss of £3.41, this gives us a potential profit of £16.59!

The Masters is a shorter format than most tournaments with only 16 of the top players taking part, so 3+ century breaks would be a good result.

If you’re not sure how to extract 80% of each free bet, please see my Free Bet Strategy page for a walk-through guide on how it should be done.

* I actually placed my qualifying bet on Ronnie O’Sullivan at back odds of 4.50 and lay odds of 5.50. O’Sullivan made five century breaks during the tournament, meaning I made an overall profit of £14.61 on this offer. *
