Coral Cheltenham Offer – Mullins Magic

Willie Mullins broke all Festival records last year with FOUR winners on the opening day, so you don’t want to miss this Cheltenham offer from Coral! Simply place a £20.00+ Win Single on the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle (13:30 on Tuesday 15th March 2016) and every time Willie Mullins has a winner, Coral will give us a £5.00 free bet. Translated into matched betting terms, this gives us a potential profit of £14.09 and here’s how…

Qualifying Bet:

If you’re unfamiliar with qualifying bets, please see my Qualifying Bet Strategy page for a walk-through guide on how they should be done.

All we need to do is place a £20.00+ Win Single on the opening race of Day 1, which is the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle (13:30 on Tuesday 15th March 2016).

At the time of writing, the lay odds are pretty poor, so it’s probably best that we wait until the day of the race to get our qualifying bet on, as the lay odds should have tightened up nicely by then. It’s entirely up to you which horse you place your qualifying bet on. I’ll be looking to place my qualifying bet on the favourite, Min. I’ve used fictional lay odds in the following example and I’ll update the post with my actual odds after the race.

I like to place my exchange lay bets with Smarkets as they have great liquidity, the site is really easy to use and they only charge 2% commission in comparison to the 5% charged by other betting exchanges.

We can calculate our lay stake using my matched betting calculator…

Place £20.00 on Min @ 2.75 = Potential profit of £35.00

Lay £18.46 on Min @ 3.00 = Potential liability of £36.91

Let’s have a look at our potential profit/loss for the possible outcomes…

Min wins + £35.00 – £36.91 = £1.91 loss
Min doesn’t win – £20.00 + £18.09 = £1.91 loss

So regardless of the result of the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle, we will lose £1.91 in qualifying for this offer.

Free Bets:

For every Mullins trained horse that wins on Day 1 of the Cheltenham Festival, we will receive a £5.00 free bet. Therefore, a repeat of last year’s four winners, would bag us £20.00 in free bets.

By using straightforward matched betting, we can extract 80% of any free bet as cash, so in this case, £16.00. If we take into account our qualifying loss of £1.91, this gives us a potential profit of £14.09!

Willie Mullins has runners in all 7 races on Day 1 of the festival including the following four favourites…

Horse Time Race Odds
Min 13:30 Supreme Novices’ Hurdle 2/1
Douvan 14:10 Arkle Challenge Trophy Chase 1/3
Annie Power 15:30 Champion Hurdle Challenge Trophy 4/7
Vroum Vroum Mag 16:10 Mares’ Hurdle 4/6

* There were 3 Willie Mullins trained winners on Day 1 of the Cheltenham Festival 2016, meaning we made a profit of £10.09 on this Coral offer. *
