138 Price Boost Acca – FA Cup 4th Round

There’s a big weekend of FA Cup 4th Round action and 138 are running a tasty little price boost. Place an accumulator bet on Tottenham, Man City, Everton & Chelsea at the normal odds quoted on site and if it wins, 138 will top our account balance up with a Price Boost. Translated into matched betting terms, this gives us a potential risk-free profit of £10.78 and here’s how…

Price Boost Bet:

The maximum stake for this offer is £20.00.

The current odds on Tottenham, Man City, Everton and Chelsea all winning are 4.85. This means that if our accumulator wins, we will receive £97.00 cash (normal odds) and a £33.00 free bet (price boost up to 6.50). We know we can extract 80% of any free bet as cash, so £26.40, giving us total cash returned of £123.40 and a profit of £103.40.

Place £20.00 on Tottenham, Man City, Everton and Chelsea @ 4.85 = Potential profit of £103.40

Match 1: Colchester v Tottenham (Kick-Off: 12:45 on Saturday 30th January 2016)

On the first match, we have to cover our original stake of £20.00.  If we divide £20.00 by 0.98 (to account for the 2% Smarkets commission), this gives us a lay stake of £20.41.

Lay £20.41 on Tottenham @ 1.41 = Potential liability of £8.37

If Tottenham win – £8.37 = – £8.37
If Tottenham don’t win – £20.00 + £20.00 = £0.00

So if Tottenham don’t win, the offer will be over and we’ll have broken even. However, if Tottenham do win, we will have lost £8.37 so far.

Match 2: Aston Villa v Man City (Kick-Off: 15:00 on Saturday 30th January 2016)

So, if Tottenham win, this means on the next match we will have to cover both the £8.37 lost so far plus the original stake of £20.00. If we divide £28.37 by 0.98 (to account for the 2% Smarkets commission), this gives us a lay stake of £28.95.

smarkets white

Lay £28.95 on Man City @ 1.80 = Potential liability of £23.16

If Man City win – £8.37 – £23.16 = – £31.53
If Man City don’t win – £20.00 – £8.37 + £28.37 = £0.00

So if Man City don’t win, the offer will be over and we’ll have broken even. However, if Man City do win, we will have lost £31.53 so far.

Match 3: Carlisle v Everton (Kick-Off: 13:30 on Sunday 31st January 2016)

So, if Man City win, this means on the next match we will have to cover both the £31.53 lost so far plus the original stake of £20.00. If we divide £51.53 by 0.98 (to account for the 2% Smarkets commission), this gives us a lay stake of £52.58.

smarkets white

Lay £52.58 on Everton @ 1.53 = Potential liability of £27.87

If Everton win – £8.37 – £23.16 – £27.87 = – £59.40
If Everton don’t win – £20.00 – £8.37 – £23.16 + £51.53 = £0.00

So if Everton don’t win, the offer will be over and we’ll have broken even. However, if Everton do win, we will have lost £59.40 so far.

Match 4: MK Dons v Chelsea (Kick-Off: 16:00 on Sunday 31st January 2016)

So, if Everton win, this means on the next match we will have to cover both the £59.40 lost so far plus the original stake of £20.00. If we divide £79.40 by 0.98 (to account for the 2% Smarkets commission), this gives us a lay stake of £81.02.

smarkets white

Lay £81.02 on Chelsea @ 1.41 = Potential liability of £33.22

If Chelsea win – £8.37 – £23.16 – £27.87 – £33.22 + £103.40 = £10.78 profit
If Chelsea don’t win – £20.00 – £8.37 – £23.16 – £27.87 + £79.40 = £0.00

So, if any team fails to win along the way, we’ll have broken even and there’s no harm done. However, if all four teams win, we’ll have made a nice risk-free profit of £10.78!

If our accumulator wins, our free bet will be credited to our account within 24 hours of settlement.

I’d like to point out that the above workings are based on the lay odds that were available at the time of writing. If the lay odds fluctuate before we are able to place our lay bets, this may result in us making more potential profit, less potential or even a slight loss, so please bear that in mind before deciding whether or not to do this offer.
