Sun Bets Cheltenham 2017 Offer – Free Bets

Cheltenham 2017 is finally here and you don’t want to miss this Sun Bets offer! Bet £10.00 on the first race at Cheltenham each day and Sun Bets will give us 2 x £5.00 free bets to use on the rest of that day’s card. Translated into matched betting terms, this gives us a guaranteed profit of £27.36 and here’s how…

Qualifying Bets:

If you’re unfamiliar with qualifying bets, please see my Qualifying Bet Strategy page for a walk-through guide on how they should be done.

We’ll need to enter the promo code ‘BELTER’ in ‘My Account’, to be eligible for this offer.

To claim our 2 x £5.00 free bets each day, we just need to bet £10.00+ on the first Cheltenham race of the day.

It’s entirely up to you what you place your qualifying bets on. Having looked at the odds available for the first race (13:30) on Tuesday, I’ve opted to place my qualifying bet on Ballyandy.

I like to place my exchange lay bets with Smarkets as they have great liquidity, the site is really easy to use and they only charge 2% commission in comparison to the 5% charged by other betting exchanges. Remember, we pay 0% commission on the first race every day at Cheltenham!

We can calculate our lay stakes using the matched betting calculator…

As you can see, the calculator tells us that our lay stake should be £8.84…

Place £10.00 on Ballyandy @ 4.333 = Potential profit of £33.33

smarkets logo

Lay £8.84 on Ballyandy @ 4.90 = Potential liability of £34.47

Let’s have a look at our potential profit/loss for the possible outcomes…

Ballyandy wins + £33.33 – £34.47 = £1.14 loss
Ballyandy doesn’t win – £10.00 + £8.84 (£8.84 minus 0% commission) = £1.16 loss

So, regardless of the outcome, we’ll lose a maximum of £1.16 in qualifying for our 2 x £5.00 free bets.

Free Bets:

Our 2 x £5.00 free bets will be credited as soon as possible and must be used on the remaining Cheltenham races the same day.

By using straightforward matched betting, we should be able to extract at least 80% of the 2 x £5.00 free bets, so approximately £8.00. If we take into consideration our maximum qualifying loss of £1.16, we’ll make a guaranteed profit of £6.84.

With four days of racing to look forward to, this gives us an overall guaranteed profit of £27.36 on this Sun Bets Cheltenham 2017 offer!
