Euro 2020 gets underway on Friday and Grosvenor are getting in on the action. Simply place a £10.00+ bet on the tournament top goalscorer and Grosvenor will give us a £2.00 free bet every time our player scores a goal! Translated into matched betting terms, this gives us a potential profit of £9.19 and here’s how…
Key terms
- Promotion is valid until 20:00 on Friday 11th June 2021.
- Applies to bets placed on the Euro 2020 – Top Goalscorer 2020 market.
- Minimum stake of £10.00.
- £2.00 free bet for every goal scored by our selected player.
Strategy
It’s entirely up to you how you play these pre-tournament offers on the outright markets.
The tournament starts on Friday 11th June 2021 and ends on Sunday 11th July 2021, meaning your funds at the betting exchange could be tied up for some time if your selected team/player does well.
That’s fine if you have a sizeable bankroll, but if not, make sure you leave yourself enough funds to do reload offers that will no doubt be available throughout the tournament.
You can reduce your overall liability at the exchange by selecting different teams/players for different offers. For example, say you place lay bets on France, England and Germany each with a liability of £100, you would only need £100 in your exchange account (not £300) as only one team can win the tournament.
Of course, another option is to not lay these pre-tournament offers at all and just let the back bets run. The free bets should cover most of the qualifying stakes and if your selected team/player wins, you’ll make a nice profit.
Qualifying bet
If you’d like more information about qualifying bets and how they work, please see my qualifying bets guide.
It’s entirely up to you which player you go for. At the time of writing, Harry Kane is available at back odds of 8.00 (7/1) and lay odds of 8.20.
Either exchange works for this offer
Betfair and Smarkets are both great options for this offer. If you’ve not used one of them, now is a great time to give them a try.
- Money back as cash up to £20
- 0% commission for 60 days
We can calculate our lay stake using my Matched Betting Calculator…
As you can see, the calculator tells us that our lay stake should be £9.78…
Place £10.00 on Harry Kane @ 8.00 = Potential profit of £70.00
Lay £9.78 on Harry Kane @ 8.20 = Potential liability of £70.41
Outcomes
Let’s have a look at our potential profit/loss for the possible outcomes…
So, no matter the outcome, we’ll lose a maximum of £0.42 in qualifying for our potential free bets.
Free bets
We’ll receive a £2.00 free bet for every goal scored by our selected player. Free bets will be credited within 48 hours of our player scoring and will be valid for 7 days. Free bet stakes are not included in any returns.
If Harry Kane scores 6 goals in the tournament, we’ll receive £12.00 in free bets.
Using straightforward matched betting, we should be able to convert our free bets into 80% cash, so £9.60. If we take into account our qualifying loss of £0.41, this gives us a potential profit of £9.19 on this Grosvenor offer!
* Harry Kane scored 4 goals as Cristiano Ronaldo and Patrik Schick finished joint top goalscorers, resulting in a profit of £5.98 on this Grosvenor offer. *

Guest userHi Matt,
I am a massive fan of the blog!
Is it worth considering rules around golden Boot vs top Goalscorer in the event of any ties? I understand golden Boot winner is settled on assists, whereas any top Goalscorer market dead heat rules would apply? This may result in a loss on the bookie bet and also the exchange lay?
Matt
1537Great to have you on board Mathieu!
As far as I’m aware, the qualifying market is ‘Top Goalscorer‘ rather than Golden Boot, so it should be settled the same as the exchange market.

Guest userThanks for this.
I have just seen your explanation on the sky bet offer where you have already explained this perfectly!
