How does the offer work?

To qualify, you must opt into the offer, connect your Smarkets account, and place an integrated bet. Click ‘Get Started’ below, and I’ll guide you through every step. Alternatively, you can get a preview of what’s coming by reading the numbered points below.

Create a free Matched Betting Blog account, or sign in if you already have one.
Opt into Smarkets’ 0% commission offer via the link provided. Make sure you enter the email address you used to register with Smarkets. You should receive a confirmation email within a few minutes.
Connect your Smarkets account to Matched Betting Blog. Smarkets will ask you to log into your account and approve the permissions needed for Matched Betting Blog to place an integrated bet.
View the featured events on my integrated bet tool and place a back or lay bet on any of the markets within them. There is no minimum stake or odds.

Key terms

The offer cannot be used in conjunction with Skrill, Neteller, Trustly or PayPal deposits. These payment methods will be made unavailable for the duration of the promotional period.
There is no minimum stake.
There are no minimum odds.
Upon placing your integrated qualifying bet, you should receive an email from Smarkets confirming your 0% commission rate, usually within a few minutes.
The 0% commission will apply to all bets that settle within the promotional period.
Your 30 days of 0% commission runs from the date of your last integrated bet, so keep placing bets to extend the offer.
For the avoidance of doubt, the 0% commission rate will apply to all back and lay bets placed directly at Smarkets. Only an integrated bet via my Smarkets betting tool will extend the offer.
If you go 30 days without placing an integrated bet, your commission will revert to the standard rate of 2%. Smarkets will send you an email confirming this. Place another integrated bet to return to the 0% commission rate.

You can check your commission rate anytime via the Trading Stats & Commission section of your Smarkets account.

FAQs

When will the 0% commission rate be applied to my Smarkets account?

Your 0% commission rate should be active instantly after placing your integrated qualifying bet. You’ll pay zero commission on all bets that settle within 30 days of placing the bet and within the promotional period.

I have not received my opt-in confirmation email from Smarkets. What should I do?

Be sure to check your spam folder. Many email providers automatically sort your emails into separate inboxes, such as ‘promotions’ or ‘updates’, so check those, too.

Remember, you can check your active commission rate via the Trading Stats & Commission section of your Smarkets account. You can contact Smarkets’ live chat support if you’re still unsure.

Will an integrated bet ever be partially matched?

No. The Smarkets betting tool will only place an integrated bet if it can be fully matched.

My bet will settle after my 0% commission period ends. What commission rate will apply?

If your bet settles after your 0% validity period, it will be subject to Smarkets’ standard commission rate of 2%.

Can I extend my 0% commission period before it expires?

Yes. You can place another integrated bet before your validity period expires to renew your 30 days.

Can I unlink my MBB and Smarkets accounts?

Yes. You can unlink your accounts directly at Smarkets. Go to Settings > Integrations > Untoggle Matched Betting Blog > Update permissions.

I am new to matched betting but it seems that Smarkets is way ahead of the other exchanges in terms of competitive lay prices. I am worried about what I will do of I have to move to the select tier. Am I off the mark? My oddsmatching tool is always sending me to Smarkets and only to Betdaq, Betfair or Matchbook about 1 time in 50.

  I don’t think they beat Betfair on lay prices Richard, but if your oddsmatcher is set to 0% commission for Smarkets and 2% for Betfair, that’s going to give them the edge a lot of the time.
  
  I wouldn’t worry too much about the Select tier as you need to exceed £25,000 in net profit over a 12 month period. That’s net profit (profit minus losses) rather than just winning bets. Even if you did hit the threshold, 3% wouldn’t stop you profiting.

    Hi, it won’t let me reply under your last comment. I opted out of it last year when I had a trial with Oddsmonkey and I didn’t want to pay for Oddsmonkey so I opted out of the 0% commission. Smarkets are saying now though because I opted out before I’m now not eligible to opt back in.

I know this might be a stupid question but what is an integrated bet? You have links on your website to Smarkets, but they are for opening an account. Is there something I have not seen on your website?

Hi, this sounds interesting. I assume though most people will place 1 integrated bet per month using your tool to keep the 0% commission rolling over. How does this benefit you? I’m not complaining, just interested.

Hi there – I’m having an issue placing an integrated bet. My lay stake is 9.79 and the box turns red and says: “Stake must have a maximum of 2 decimal places.” It only has one decimal place, so not sure what’s up there?

  I’ve managed to do it, but I had to adjust the amount to 9.77 – if you use the up/down arrows to adjust the stake, the box eventually turns green and allows you to place the bet when it’s happy with the figure. Tried on Firefox and Chrome.

Thanks for this offer Matt. It’s great that there’s access to the 0% rate for beginners like me, who aren’t quite ready to commit to OddsMonkey/Outplayed fees.

Wondering if you have any advice on the following. I’ve noticed that my Smarkets account balance (all bets currently settled) is showing a penny less than the balance stated in the Smarkets email I received (the balance in the email is exactly equal to the sum of my deposit, profit and loss for all bets placed).

Obviously it is only 1 penny, so it seems a non-issue, but my worry is whether it will keep happening and that it’s already creating a discrepancy in the spreadsheet records I keep. Have you ever experienced/heard of this? Do you think I should I ignore it or bother to contact Smarkets about it?

  Hi Hasa. Yes, the current end date for the 0% commission is 31st January 2023, though hopefully, this will be extended.
  
  If you’ve just signed up with Smarkets, you should have 0% commission anyway for your first 60 days, so you don’t need to extend it just yet.

Hi

I cannot for the life of me work out how to place an integrated bet on your website?? I’ll be honest I signed up a while back but I have the same frustration whenever I need to place a bet to keep the 0% running. Firstly can you tell me how to do this and secondly why is it not obvious on your site?
