It’s Week 9 of the Premier League 2016/17 season and you don’t want to miss this Sun Bets offer! Simply place a First Goalscorer bet on any Premier League game televised on Sky or BT, and if our bet has lost by half-time, Sun Bets will refund our stake as a free bet up to £10.00. Translated into matched betting terms, this gives us an overall potential profit of £24.00 and here’s how…
Qualifying Bets:
This weekend’s eligible matches are as follows…
Fixture | Kick-Off | Date |
---|---|---|
Bournemouth v Tottenham | 12:30 | Saturday 22nd October 2016 |
Liverpool v West Brom | 17:30 | Saturday 22nd October 2016 |
Man City v Southampton | 13:30 | Sunday 23rd October 2016 |
Chelsea v Man Utd | 16:00 | Sunday 23rd October 2016 |
If you’re unfamiliar with qualifying bets, please see my Qualifying Bet Strategy page for a walk-through guide on how it should be done.
If our First Goalscorer bet has lost by half-time, Sun Bets will refund our stake as a free bet up to £10.00.
Having looked at the odds available for Bournemouth v Tottenham, I’ve opted to place my qualifying bet on Heung-Min Son.
We’ll need to lay our First Goalscorer bets on the Betfair Exchange.
We can calculate our lay stake using my matched betting calculator…
As you can see, the calculator tells us that our lay stake should be £8.63…
Place £10.00 on Heung-Min Son @ 6.00 = Potential profit of £50.00
Lay £8.63 on Heung-Min Son @ 7.00 = Potential liability of £51.80
Let’s have a look at our potential profit/loss for the possible outcomes…
Son scores first | + £50.00 – £51.80 = £1.80 loss |
Someone else scores first before half-time | – £10.00 + £8.20 + £8.00 (extract 80% from £10.00 free bet) = £6.20 profit |
Someone else scores first after half-time | – £10.00 + £8.20 = £1.80 loss |
So, if any player other than Heung-Min Son scores first before half-time, we will make a nice profit of £6.20. If, however, Heung-Min Son scores first or the score is 0-0 at half-time, we’ll have made a small loss of £1.80. Risking £1.80 to make a profit of £6.20, gives us effective odds of 4.44, which I’m sure you’ll agree, makes this a profitable offer in the long run.
This offer is available on all four televised matches. It’s entirely up to you which selections you go for. I’ll update the following table with my selections throughout the weekend…
Fixture | Selection | Back Odds | Lay Odds | Qualifying Loss | Potential Profit |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Bournemouth v Tottenham | Son | 6.00 | 7.00 | £1.80 | £6.20 |
Liverpool v West Brom | Firmino | 4.50 | 6.20 | £3.05 | £4.95 |
Man City v Southampton | Aguero | 3.80 | 4.50 | £1.89 | £6.11 |
Chelsea v Man Utd | – | – | – | – | – |
So, as you can see, we’ll lose a couple of quid on each bet that doesn’t come off, but with approximately £6.00 profit per game up for grabs, this offer is well worth a shot!
* Sadio Mane scored the first goal in Liverpool v West Brom after 20 minutes and Nathan Redmond scored the first goal in Manchester City v Southampton after 27 minutes, meaning I made an overall profit of £9.26 on this Sun Bets offer. *
