BetStars Offer – US Masters 2017

The US Masters 2017 is underway and BetStars are getting in on the action! Simply bet £20.00 on any 3-ball or 2-ball match at the Masters and BetStars will give us a £20.00 free bet for every eagle our selection makes in that round! Translated into matched betting terms, this gives us a potential profit of £60.00+ and here’s how…

Qualifying Bets:

If you’re unfamiliar with qualifying bets, please see my Qualifying Bet Strategy page for a walk-through guide on how they should be done.

Only qualifying bets of £20.00+ placed from Thursday 6th April 2017 onwards will be eligible.

It looks like we can qualify once per round with the players playing in 3-balls for Rounds 1 and 2 and then 2-balls for Rounds 3 and 4.

It’s entirely up to you who you place your qualifying bets on, as long as you place them on the Masters ‘3 Balls’ market. Having looked at the odds available, I’ve opted to place my 1st Round qualifying bet on Jordan Spieth.

We’ll need to lay our bets on the Betfair Exchange for this offer. Just head to Golf > US Masters 2017 > 1st Round 3 Balls.

We can calculate our lay stakes using my matched betting calculator…

Place £20.00 on Jordan Spieth @ 2.00 = Potential profit of £20.00

betfair logo

Lay £19.90 on Jordan Spieth @ 2.06 = Potential liability of £21.09

Let’s have a look at our potential profit/loss for the possible outcomes…

Spieth wins + £20.00 – £21.09 = £1.09 loss
Spieth doesn’t win – £20.00 + £18.90 (£19.90 minus 5% commission) = £1.10 loss

So, regardless of the result of the match, we’ll lose a maximum of £1.10 in qualifying for our potential free bets.

Free Bets:

For every eagle that Jordan Spieth makes in the 1st Round, we’ll receive a £20.00 free bet within 48 hours of our initial qualifying bet being settled.

By using straightforward matched betting, we should be able to extract 80% of any free bets as cash.

Therefore, if Spieth is able to make an eagle, we’ll receive a £20.00 free bet, from which we can extract £16.00 cash. If we take into account our maximum qualifying loss of £1.10, this gives us a potential profit of £14.90!

This offer is available on all 4 rounds. I’ll update the following table with my selections throughout the tournament…

Round Selection Back Odds Lay Odds Qualifying Loss Potential Profit
1 Jordan Spieth 2.00 2.06 £1.10 £14.90
2 Jordan Spieth 2.00 2.02 £0.40 £15.60
3 Sergio Garcia 1.727 1.77 £0.65 £15.34
4 Justin Rose 2.00 2.00 £0.21 £15.79
