For our qualifying bet, we need to back and lay any horse other than Stradivarius. Having looked at the odds available, we could place our qualifying bet on Cross Counter.
At the time of writing, laying our bet at Smarkets gives us the smallest qualifying loss.

Place £10.00 on Cross Counter @ 5.50 = Potential profit of £45.00
Lay £9.20 on Cross Counter @ 6.00 = Potential liability of £46.00

So, given that Stradivarius is odds of just 2.20 (6/5) to win the race, this is a profitable offer in the long run.
