Sky Bet Free Bet Offer – 1:50 Sandown

It’s time for another Sky Bet free bet offer!  If the favourite wins the 1:50 at Sandown, Sky Bet will refund all losing outright bets on that race as a free bet up to £25.00.  Translated into matched betting terms, this gives us a risk-free potential profit of £17.75 and here’s how…

Qualifying Bet:

If you’re unsure about how to place qualifying bets, check out my Qualifying Bet Strategy page for a walkthrough guide on how it should be done.

For this particular offer, we need to select a horse that isn’t likely to start the race as the favourite. Unfortunately for us, there are a few horses that may start the race as favourite and so all we can really do is select one of the longer options.  Having looked at the odds on offer, I’ve opted to place my qualifying bet on Jumps Road.

skybet

Place £25.00 on Jumps Road @ 8.00 = Potential profit of £175.00

betfair

Lay £23.95 on Jumps Road @ 8.40 = Potential liability of £177.23

Let’s have a look at our potential profit/loss for the possible outcomes…

Jumps Road wins +£175.00 – £177.23 = £2.23 loss
The favourite wins -£25.00 + £22.75 + £20.00 (extract 80% from our £25.00 free bet) = £17.75 profit
Neither wins -£25.00 + £22.75 = £2.25 loss

If you’re unsure how to extract 80% of our £25.00 free bet, check out my Free Bet Strategy page for a walkthrough guide on how it should be done.

So if the favourite wins the 1:50 at Sandown, we will make £17.75 profit.  If the favourite doesn’t win, we will make a maximum loss of £2.25.  Usually with these offers, I would now advise laying the favourite at Betfair to cover the £2.25 potential loss.  Unfortunately, as we have no way of knowing who will start the race as favourite (due to the odds being so close), I’m happy to let this one run as the potential profit far outweighs the potential loss, making this a profitable offer in the long run.
