BetBright Offer – 2016 World Snooker Championship

The 2016 World Snooker Championsip gets underway on Saturday and BetBright are getting in on the action. Place a pre-tournament bet on the World Snooker Championship Outright market and every time our player makes a century break, BetBright will give us a free bet. Translated into matched betting terms, this gives us a potential profit of £28.90 and here’s how…

Qualifying Bet:

If you’re unfamiliar with qualifying bets, please see my Qualifying Bet Strategy page for a walk-through guide on how they should be done.

Our qualifying bet must be placed before the tournament starts, which gets underway at 10:00 on Saturday 16th April 2016.

For every £20.00 staked (maximum of £100.00) on our selected player, BetBright will give us a £1.00 free bet every time they make a century break. For those of you who aren’t overly familiar with snooker, a century break is when a player scores 100 points or more in one visit to the table. So if we bet the maximum amount of £100.00, we’ll get a £5.00 free bet each time our player makes a century break.

It’s entirely up to you who you place your qualifying bet on but it makes sense to go for a player with fairly low odds. Not only does this give us a good chance of bagging some free bets, but it means we won’t have too much tied up in our exchange account for the next couple of weeks. The tournament is scheduled to finish on Monday 2nd May 2016.

Having looked at the odds available, I’ve opted to place my qualifying bet on Ronnie O’Sullivan.

I like to place my exchange lay bets with Smarkets as they have great liquidity, the site is really easy to use and they only charge 2% commission in comparison to the 5% charged by other betting exchanges.

We can work out our lay stake by entering our odds into my matched betting calculator…

As you can see, the calculator tells us that our lay stake should be £86.63…

Place £100.00 on Ronnie O’Sullivan @ 2.625 = Potential profit of £162.50

smarkets white

Lay £86.63 on Ronnie O’Sullivan @ 3.05 = Potential liability of £177.60

Let’s have a look at our potential profit/loss for the two outcomes…

Ronnie O’Sullivan wins + £162.50 – £177.60 = £15.10 loss
Ronnie O’Sullivan doesn’t win – £100.00 + £84.90 (£86.63 minus 2% commission) = £15.10 loss

So, regardless of who wins the tournament, we will lose £15.10 in qualifying for this BetBright offer. If you feel that this qualifying loss is too big, feel free to select a different player. Over the last few World Championships, O’Sullivan has produced more century breaks than any other player, so I’ll be sticking with him.

Free Bets:

For every century break that O’Sullivan makes, we will get a £5.00 free bet credited by 11:00 the following day. Across the last 4 World Snooker Championships, O’Sullivan has made 45 century breaks, which is an average of just over 11 centuries per tournament. If O’Sullivan were to make 11 centuries at this years’ World Championship, we would receive £55.00 in free bets. We can then extract 80% of these as cash, so £44.00.

If we take into account our qualifying loss of £15.10, this gives us a potential profit of £28.90!

* Ronnie O’Sullivan got knocked out in the second round, having made 5 century breaks. This meant I made a profit of £4.90 on this BetBright offer. *
