Betfred Offer – World Snooker Championship 2018

The World Snooker Championship 2018 gets underway on Saturday morning and Betfred are getting in on the action. Simply bet £20.00+ on any player to win the tournament and Betfred will give us a £2.00 free bet every time they make a century break. Translated into matched betting terms, this gives us a potential profit of £13.73 and here’s how…

Qualifying Bet:

If you’re unfamiliar with qualifying bets, please see my Qualifying Bet Strategy page for a walk-through guide on how they should be done.

Qualifying bets must be placed between 09:00 on Wednesday 18th April 2018 and 10:00 on Saturday 21st April 2018, to be eligible.

It’s entirely up to you who you place your qualifying bet on but it makes sense to go for a player with fairly low odds to minimise our qualifying losses.

Having looked at the odds available, we could place our qualifying bet on Ronnie O’Sullivan.

I like to place my exchange lay bets with Betfair as they have great liquidity and the site is really easy to use.

We can calculate our lay stake using my matched betting calculator…

As you can see, the calculator tells us that our lay stake should be £19.72…

Place £20.00 on Ronnie O’Sullivan @ 3.50 = Potential profit of £50.00

betfair logo

Lay £19.72 on Ronnie O’Sullivan @ 3.60 = Potential liability of £51.27

Let’s have a look at our potential profit/loss for the two outcomes…

Ronnie O’Sullivan wins + £50.00 – £51.27 = £1.27 loss
Ronnie O’Sullivan doesn’t win -£20.00 + £18.73 (£19.72 minus 2% commission) = £1.27 loss

So, regardless of who wins the tournament, we’ll lose £1.27 in qualifying for our potential free bets.

Free Bets:

For every century break that Ronnie O’Sullivan makes, we’ll receive a £2.00 free bet within 24 hours. Free bets will be valid for 7 days and free bet stakes are not included with any returns.

If Ronnie O’Sullivan makes 10 century breaks, we’ll receive £20.00 in free bets. By using straightforward matched betting, we should be able to extract 75% of any free bets as cash, so £15.00. If we take into account our qualifying loss of £1.27, this gives us a potential profit of £13.73 on this Betfred offer!

* Ronnie O’Sullivan made four century breaks and didn’t win the tournament, resulting in a profit of £4.73 on this Betfred offer. *
