  • Dear Valued Player,

We are writing to you as one of our valued customers in light of some recent press reports following our recent Cheltenham Festival offers in order to clarify the situation.

As a brand we are always aiming to reward and incentivise genuine customers such as yourself, however in order to protect ourselves from abuse we have in place a comprehensive list of terms and conditions so we can prevent abuse from those that we believe are trying to take advantage solely from our promotions. During the festival period we received unprecedented traffic, the majority of which was from genuine customers such as yourself. However we also received a high volume of multiple accounts and bonus abuse, contrary to our terms and conditions. As a result we had to undergo a comprehensive review of all activity over the Cheltenham week, this involved suspending payments during the review, unfortunately this affected some genuine customers and for this we offer our sincere apologies and hope we can rely on your understanding if this did affect you.

The process we took resulted in accounts that were deemed in contradiction of our terms and conditions had their accounts suspended and subsequently closed and all their transactions reversed both for winners and losers.

Thank you for your continued support and understanding on the matter.

    Yours Sincerely

    Head of Operations

You lot mate me sick!!!! ?

  • New to matched betting?

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

Funny stuff, surely if anything genuine users will be put off by the bad publicity. Personally I think they ran out of money to cover winnings over Cheltenham and did this to cover that up.

Be great to see if they actually keep there licence.

Definitely last ditch damage limitation!… I deleted all apps etc after it went off!

They’ll be going under and possibly hurt the integrity of other smaller bookmakers, punters obviously gonna be a little more wary

Got same message with 138, whether they think the same when withdrawing is another matter.

Haha! This only adds to Ryans random theory, but let’s not open that can if worms again!

Out of interest Tony did you do any of the Cheltenham offers?

I did grubby but wasn’t affected by any of the chaos that ensued as I pretty much lost everything to the exchange

I got that exact same email from 138.com. I have an account with them but I’ve never used it, didn’t even do their sign up offer because I’m wary of using shady bookies.

Just as I pointed out to them in my reply to their email. This is just a punishment for having the nerve to win. If I lost they would still love me!

Glad you avoided any of these troubles and managed to take their bonuses to your exchange.

Lucky escape Cashedup! I wish I had thought them to be very shady. They looked reasonably respectable from the outside, but obviously a step down from the big high street chains.

They sponsor big sports teams, presumably for big money. So from my perspective seemed potentially more stable than people like Unibet, Marathon Bet, Come On!, Tony Bet, Bet Bright etc who I had only really heard of from MBing sites but all of whom I have had no problems with.

I guess doing one off sign up offer doesn’t risk that much but the nature of these offers meant everyone was placing 3-4 bets per day to qualify plus their free bet. If they all win you have a fortune in there before you know it. Times that by 4 days and the unprecedented amount of favourites winning and you get this mess.

Right. It’s possible the people affected had managed to withdraw successfully from these guys in the past? There’s no way I’d start moving relatively large sums of money through a lesser known (or even well known) bookie until I’d had some good experiences with them processing a few withdrawals properly and behaving in a trustworthy way. I just can’t afford to lose the money — so that is my incentive to be really quite cautious.

Same email from 138bet and 12bet guess its because I didnt do any offer over cheltenham

They let me withdraw 1k over the first 2 days of the festival. Only my requests on days 3 and 4 got suspended. So my experiences over the first two days were good. Really fast payouts and no problems having funds back in my exchanges to go again the before the next morning. Actually faster than a lot of the other sites I used over Cheltenham. Yes, their sites collapsed under weight of numbers but not problems with the money at first.

Also with so many offers to try and cover and their site problems early in the festival I just placed all of the days bets in the morning then checked back in later. People regularly doing the CH4 racing offers wouldn’t think twice about doing 4-7 races at £25, possibly across multiple sites. They all win and your exchanges are wiped out. If you do horses then this will have happened to you one Saturday or another. What you don’t expect is all that to just be stolen. Obviously Hills, Ladrokes etc are in a different league, but still.

Are Bet Bright considerably ‘safer’ than the TGP group? They now do a lot of MB2nd offers and have been praised on here for stepping up their offers.

The money I’ve lost to this was just float built up from doing matched betting and everyone is absolutely right that if your float is money you can’t risk then be very careful.

I started out MBing with £200, that I probably couldn’t afford to lose to be honest, back in November. I’ve been lucky enough to build that up to 3k before all this. £900 is harsh for me but not as bad as it is for many.
