Friday 8 January – Enhanced odds and good spots…

  • Quiet morning in the office, so I am just looking for any opportunities and thought I would start this thread for others to post anything they find today.

Couple to keep an eye on for now…

William Hill – PSG to win by 4 or more enhanced to 4.0 (v3.8 lay [PSG -3] on Betfair just now, but should reduce to nearer 3.5)

Paddy Power – Man City/Man U/West Ham all to win boosted to 5.0 (no lay yet, but the acca markets are on Betfair, just need to wait for them to add this combo)

I should add, all the things I post will have been found on bookie iPhone apps, in case they are mobile specific.

  • New to matched betting?

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

Ya could actually lay the City/West ham/ Chelsea treble @4.7

United don’t kick off until late

Very small margin at current odds and you’d have to lay United off should the treble land but there’s also a chance of winning both bets should Chelsea slip up…

Bet 365 4/1 offer. Favourite is currently running at 5.50 decimal. Underlay later to secure zero loss/or good profit

I suspect someone has pressed Report instead of Reply? LOL

Which race were you on about there Mike? Your post wasn’t exactly detail-heavy! haha 😀

    Yeah i can explain antisocial.

englishwoman is the favourite to win the 17.45 at wolverhampton. Its on the feature races for the day at 365. This means if you back a winner at 4/1 or greater you will get a £50 free bet.

Current back odds are 5.5. lay odds are 7

If we back for £50 and underlay for £37.50. If the horse wins we lose £13.50 but will get a free £50 bet for the next feature race (6.45 wolverhampton) If the horse looses then we break even (- the commission) but our money transfers to the exchange

Back a winner at 4/1 or higher and you get a risk free bet on the next offer race

I have chosen Intimately. Backed at 6 and laid at 6.2. Cost £3.66 to do but the spoils are good if it wins

Mike you’ve done it the wrong way round?
If the horse doesn’t win you lose £13.50

To do what you are suggesting you would have to lay £52.63 which would mean £0 if the horse didn’t win, But you’d lose £90.78 if it did!

Good spot ice magic, I’ve already placed the lay bet as well, time for some recalculating.

Why did you go for Intimately, out of interest? Judgement/opinion, or just as the odds were close? I am trying to learn more about selecting the “right” horses for these kind of offers and the 2nd place offers too.

i normally try to find the line in between the over lay and standard back/lay depending on the odds, went the wrong way this time

    Tony 13

You placed the lay bet first?

If so and provided the odds haven’t moved dramatically, then just back out of the lay by backing it at the exchange for a small ‘let that be a lesson to you’ loss?

edit – you are you using a calculator to determine these “middle ground” under/over lay sweet spots right?

already done the back as well, yeah, i use an online calculator which has a slider so you can adjust to show potential profit/loss

For the under/overlay calculations I think https://www.oddsmonkey.com/Calculator.aspx this can be used in advanced mode
