Little advise please

  • Hi all

This is my first post and not started matched betting yet, but am looking forward to joining the band wagon.

I already have a few bookmakers and bet fair account from previous betting ( currently have £600 in bet 365 £90 in sky bet from normal betting ) so thought I would use some of this money to get started with matched betting.

So was wondering where I should start ?? Can’t really deposit any money in other accounts due to restrictions on my bank account, but can from pay pal.

Already have wh, pp, bet Fred, lad, 888 and bet vic open…..

    Any suggestions will be appreciated…

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

You have missed the bandwagon I am afraid ,8 months too late.
How do you mean you have restictions on your bank account, its the bookies who do the restrictions,

Better to be upfront and honest with your partner, hiding what you are doing is not a good idea.
Also having a partner account doubles your opportunities,
Just need 6 kids over 18 to give it a real go

Simon, still plenty of opportunity for you to make money with the accounts you do have. Read up on the guides on this site, particularly 2nd place refunds and extra place refunds. Those can be very profitable, but admittedly not as many offers now as there has been. Paddy do a regular football bet 20 get 10 in play, and bet365 have a £50 in play offer , the champions league final will prob be the next game for that. I’m clearing about 700 a month from only sky, 365, victor and bettstars. Before you know it you’ll be making plenty. Euro 2016 coming up in a months time too. Matched betting still alive and kicking, maybe not to the level that Patrick has experienced but I’m still content with what I make and been doing this for just over 1 year.

Also make sure your account preferences you have opted in to receive email offers and promos. Some bookies will send you invite only offers.

Cheers gman, regularly do the bet365 In play which I have made a few quid on but that was proper gambling not the matched betting.

Horses looks a bit confusing atm, so will stick to the footy till I’m all ready to go further.

Is it best to sign up to one of these chargeable matched betting sites or stick with this site ??

Regarding what offers are available and how to tackle them just read the main blog. It has everything you want to know.

Racing offers at the moment are not very good.
2nd to SP favourite does not give a good rate of return.

    Hi Simon,

I suggest you open a separate bank account for your matched betting.
Lots of people who do matched betting use ffrees.co.uk.
    Good luck 😉

    Hi Simon.

Follow Matt’s blog post for a month or so and you will get the swing of it. Don’t listen to patrick – there is opportunity there for beginners. Matt’s blog highlights offers worth up to £500 each month. But don’t expect it to last long, I started seriously last November and have lost nine bookie accounts. The same will happen to you.

I am a little worried about the story behind the bank account? I would stay away from matched betting if gambling is causing financial problems to the extent that you have checks on your bank account ….. I’m sure that’s not the reason but matched betting should come with a few warnings.

    * Its not guaranteed money – you can lose and lose big due to human error – or lay odds moving fast. Everyone makes mistakes.
    * Pay attention to the T&C’s, if you don’t fully understand them you can find yourself in a bad situation.
    * The bookie offers are intended to entice you into their world, and in a way they work, gives you the taste for gambling and depending on your discipline you could find yourself straying away from matched betting and into full blown gambling addiction.
    * It takes more than 15 minutes per day! Often the amount of time put in is not worth the rewards – typically each offer/sign up is worth about £2-£5. That’s all.

There is a mine field of traps.
    * Exchange rules on tennis retirements different from bookie.
    * Laying the wrong horse (happens more than you think).
    * Website issues (smarkets goes down just before you get your lay on).
    * Misunderstanding markets – like the difference between the HT/FT market and To win Either Half market. Or how to lay To Win by 2 or more goals etc. These come up all the time on the forums.
    * Rollover requirements. Make sure you know what you are getting into, if you need to rollover £1000 then it will probably cost you about £100. So it’s not worth it for a £50 free bet.
    * Losing it to the exchange. People gamble on losing their money at the bookie and winning in the exchange. It’s a quick way to complete a rollover. But if the bookie bet wins then you can have £1000’s tied up in the bookie bonus fund and it will be locked in until you can complete the T&C’s which sometimes are next to impossible in situations like that.
    * Gamble on prices moving. Some ppl back a horse/outcome and wait for the lay price to shorten to reduce qualifying losses. This is just gambling and if the lay price moves the other way then you can end up risking your full stake.
    * Bookies monitoring for bonus abuse. This happened at Cheltenham, a bunch of bookies cited bonus abuse and reversed ppl’s winning bets and cancelled their free bets. This can cost a lot of money since you have already paid out on the lays.
