Odds Matching for Bet Builders?

  • Does anyone have any tips for finding good odds matches when betting on Bet Builders?

Often, there’ll be an offer whereby the “prize” is a free bet to use on Bet Builders, and these usually only require two selections (subject to minimum odds) – which can then, in turn, be laid at the Exchange. For example, “Winner / BTTS” or “Winner / Goals Over”, which would qualify as two-selection Bet Builders with most bookies and which would also be available as a single item on Smarkets or Betfair.

The problem (as with all multiple bets) is that the lay odds tend to be unattractive. An example today is the Southampton v Nottm Forest match in the EPL this evening. You can back “Southampton / BTTS Yes” at 4.50 on BetUK, but the lay odds on Smarkets are 5.50, leaving you with just £6.36 out of a £10 free bet

As far as I know, there is no calculator available to sniff out good Bet Builders for matched betting, but are there any guiding principles that can help? For example, is “BTTS” generally a better selection than “Goals Over/Under”?

  • New to matched betting?

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

This is what I am looking for as well 🙂 Betbuilder is easier within Bet365 & 888sport as you can just select 1 option and then compare certain matches on another screen, but Betuk you have to select each one then delete and repeat.

I tended to find that the favourite to win over 2 goals or favourite BTTS on Bet365 produced the closest matches.

Ps. If you want more Betbuilder fun, Bet365 have the Chelsea Man City game tonight with a 25% boost. I am contemplating trying out the formulae for the backodds ((Bet365 Current BackOdds – 1) x 1.25) + 1 to see if that can generate a guaranteed win…
e.g Man city over 2.5 goals currently smarkets calculates as back odds of 3.0 and lay 2.82 so can lay 26.60 for a £1.59 or £25 to gamble the correct result for a £4.50 win.

I think 60% cash from a free Bet Builder bet is about right, so £6.36 from a £10 free bet is pretty good.
