Some profit from Dustin at least. Shame about Day, had Rose just miss out too.
+0Never seen a man more gutted than Speith putting that jacket on Willet!
+0I went to put £1 ew on Willet for a bit of fun earlier @20/1. Messed up and only put £1 win on so did it again. Never expected him to win so made up with over £40 profit.
+0Same for me Drogs
Johnson meant I made profit overall (even with his net winnings reduced because it was a tied 4th), also nothing like it could have been with Day and McIlroy one shot off too
Close, but profit is profit, even if small
+0I don’t watch much golf but wow its an unforgiving sport. In football if you sky a penalty or hit the corner flag or generally screw up then then you just don’t score. But its not like they start deducting goals off you!
Footballers screw up dozens of times in a match. In golf every stroke counts, every single touch of the ball has to be perfect for FOUR days!
Such discipline.
Well done Willet but I feel sorry for Spieth.
+0Fog, Everyones rightly feeling sorry for Speith but hes won a major and will win more. I feel a little bit more for Lee Westwood. That was his 6th top 10 finish at the Masters and his 11th top 10 in all majors without winning one. Colin Montgomerie and Dustin Johnson re the same, great players but never managed to get over the line in one of the big ones.
+0Westwood will never win a Major – yesterday highlighted (again!) that he simple doesn’t have the bottle for it. He stood on the 16th tee, having just chipped in for eagle on 15, knowing that he was just 1 shot behind the leader, who he was playing with. He had the honour on the 16th, a par 3 that had seen a glut of hole in ones that day given it’s generous pin placement, and proceeded to play a poor tee shot and then bogey it, whilst Willet simply put his foot down an made (yet) another birdie.
Spieth let me down for a fair wedge (mug bet) so I am as gutted as anyone, but in a way I am glad that Willet won it. I doubt he will win many more Majors, so it will mean more to him that it would have Spieth, who will certainly go on to win many more.
