The poker thread

  • Just a place to talk all things about poker as I can imagine a few of us play.

  • New to matched betting?

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

Used one of those free Sky Tokens last night, made my evening rather enjoyable. Won £7.60 I think it was but from a free buy in and I hadn’t played in a while couldn’t complain. Went all in at the end he had Ace 4 I had Queen 6 and two Queens on the flop..was my lucky evening :D. By now means an expert but love a game!

Nice one Ryan I used to like heads up on sky. But mainly play on pokers tars and love zoom. Also a game I like on sky is double or nothing’s. Me and my mate at uni used to enter the same ones and anyone might guess what we used to do.

Done a few of them recently @beesty2016 , I think it is safe to say that there are still plenty of folk doing exactly that!

Used to play a lot of live poker, both tourneys and cash games all over UK… even made it to Vegas one year. Love the game but it seems a lot harder to beat nowadays than when I was doing it regularly

Oh sweet, so you happily colluded on the Sky DoNs? Nice. /sarcasm

Ex-grinder, low stakes cash, massive bonus chaser. When the boom started (tytyty Chris Moneymaker) signups/reloads were mostly well over 200% rakeback and the games were super soft. EZ game.

Gave up after Black Friday as my hourly dropped to below that of a burger-flipper. My own fault for being content/lazy and never trying to get better. Now even the 5c/10c NL games play like the $1/$2 NL games from back in the day.

I see the likes of unibet are trying to soften the games again by limiting max no. of tables, banning HUDs etc etc. If the Yanks ever came back to Stars maybe the games would soften up again.
