Using Extra Places by laying with BetConnect

  • Hi

I’ve recently been referred to BetConnect to use their platform like an exchange where you can lay selections. They appear to offer 0% commission and their odds seem to be very close to the bookmakers.

It seems with BetConnect they “group” the Lay Win and Lay Place into the one bet so I’m a little confused to what calculator I should use within the Tools section as this websites Extra Places calculator has the concept of laying both the Win and Place whereas if I was using BetConnect I would only want to enter one lay price.

Hope that makes sense. Be good to hear from others if they have used BetConnect as it seems on the surface with 0% commission and lay odds being like-for-like, that it’s an ideal platform for match betting.

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

Never used them, I do get 0% at Smarkets though due to being a member of OddsMonkey. I would imagine all the exchanges are pretty much exact same odds – if they weren’t everyone would would make a fortune by backing at one and laying at another.

U can sometimes even lay a bet for lower odds, eg the betconnect pro may offer a lay of 14-1 whilst u can get on at 16s at bet365 for example

Good for extra places, can sometimes make small losses if hit top 4 as you back at 1/5 odds a place but are offering 1/4 odds connect. However this is offset by the double win of 5th and overall getting 1/5 odds 5 places is a better proposition… sometimes even get 6 or more places!

Connect also good for getting paid with BOG, first past post etc etc
