Betting a bonus multiple times

  • HI all

I’m quite new to the matched betting scene but am picking it up quickly. Most of the “low hanging fruit” now picked and looking at the matched deposits that need to be re-bet a number of times.

Having read the terms and conditions for a site called 22Bet I knew that the wagering requirements were 1 bet per market and odds over 1.65 X 10 to release the bonus and winnings. I obviously tried to keep as close to 1.65 and lay close odds.

Anyway – a lot of the bets came in with the bookies rather than the exchange. When all wagering requirements were met I added up my winnings less losses and it came to about £750. However the bonus pot was only £400. Id obviously lost a bit on the lay so was confused why this was so low.

The terms didn’t state anything but doing the maths, even though the bet slip and transaction history gave the full winnings – the bonus pot had only been credited with the winnings less the stake each time. Therefore my bonus pot was short £350 of staked money.

I thought the bonus pot bets were not treated like free bets (ie stake not returned) but have I misunderstood how this works? Obviously with this outcomes its nearly impossible to make much on this and in this case – Ive made a loss.

Any advice or thoughts from anyone – are the T&Cs clear? Do I have a case to argue as its not clear this is how the bonus will be awarded at the end from anything Ive seen.

    Thanks

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

Hi @deang. Bets using bonus funds are usually stake returned as you thought.

It’s difficult to say what’s occurred without seeing the figures but are you aware of the following term?…

‘Only the bets which do not exceed the original deposit amount will be included in the turnover requirements.’

So if you stake £100, only £50 of that would count towards wagering.

    Thanks for the reply.

Ive asked 22Bet and they simply said the calculation was correct which doesn’t help me.

Happy to post the transactions to show bet wins and losses as I value your experience and advice more right now than the bookies! All bets were over the odd requirements and nothing more than £50 which was my bonus. I think 1 bet on one match twice but that just impacts the wagering requirements right, not the winnings?

If anyone thinks this is wrong please let me know as it looks like I’m £350 short and will challenge it. If not and Ive missed the terms that’s fine – lesson learned to stay away from 22Bet!
