Sky Bet Offer – Super Sunday Price Boost

I’ve blogged this offer retrospectively as I wanted to make sure I’d got the maths right before I shared it with you guys.  Sky Bet have been running some nice Sunday price boost offers recently and I thought it was time that I exploited one. This week they boosted all six Premier League teams to score from 5/1 to 8/1.  Translated into matched betting terms, this gives us a potential profit of £27.15 and here’s how…

Price Boost Bet:

I don’t know if different people have different maximum stakes, but the maximum stake I was able to place was £27.50.

skybet

Place £27.50 on all six Prem teams to score @ 9.00 = Potential profit of £220.00

Match 1: Burnley v West Brom (12:00pm)

On the first match, we have to cover our original stake of £27.50.  If we divide £27.50 by 0.95 (to account for the 5% Betfair commission), this gives us a lay stake of £28.95.

betfair

Lay £28.95 on ‘Both Teams To Score – YES ‘ @ 2.06 = Potential liability of £30.69

If both teams score -£27.50 – £30.69 = -£58.19
If someone keeps a clean sheet -£27.50 + £27.50 = £0.00

So if either Burnley or West Brom keep a clean sheet, the offer will be over and we’ll have broken even.  However, if both teams score, we will lose £30.69.  This means on the next match we will have to cover both the £30.69 and the original stake of £27.50.  If we divide £58.19 by 0.95 (to account for the 5% Betfair commission), this gives us a lay stake of £61.25.

Match 2: Newcastle v Stoke (2:05pm)

betfair

Lay £61.25 on ‘Both Teams To Score – YES ‘ @ 1.97 = Potential liability of £59.41

If both teams score -£27.50 – £30.69 – £59.41 = -£117.60
If someone keeps a clean sheet -£27.50 – £30.69 + £58.19 = £0.00

So if either Newcastle or Stoke keep a clean sheet, the offer will be over and we’ll have broken even.  However, if both teams score, we will lose £59.41.  This means on the next match we will have to cover the £59.41, £30.69 and the original stake of £27.50.  If we divide £117.60 by 0.95 (to account for the 5% Betfair commission), this gives us a lay stake of £123.79.

Match 3: West Ham v Man United (4:15pm)

betfair

Lay £123.79 on ‘Both Teams To Score – YES ‘ @ 1.83 = Potential liability of £102.75

If both teams score -£30.69 – £59.41 – £106.46 + £220.00 = £27.15 profit
If someone keeps a clean sheet -£27.50 – £30.69 – £59.41 + £117.60 = £0.00

So if either West Ham or Man United keep a clean sheet, we’ll have broken even.  However, if both teams score, we’ll have made a nice profit of £27.15!
