My free Multi-Lay Calculator works out the lay stakes you need when you’re laying multiple mutually exclusive outcomes against a single back bet, whether that’s covering several correct scores for a Bet Builder, multiple horses in a price boost, or any other set of outcomes that can’t both happen. It supports qualifying bets, free bets and ‘money back if bet loses’ offers, and it’s built to cope with more than just the standard sums too: profit boosts, different commission rates, underlay and overlay, unlimited lay selections, and automatic maximum exchange liability calculations.
Start by telling the calculator what kind of offer you’re working with:
Next, fill in the details of your back bet:
Add each outcome you want to lay, entering the lay odds and commission for each one. Most multi-lays only need two or three selections, occasionally four, but you’re not limited to that if your offer needs more.
You can also rename each outcome, so instead of “Outcome 1” and “Outcome 2” you might use “2-1” and “3-1”, or the name of your selection. Simply update the label, and it’ll carry through to the results table further down, so it’s clear at a glance which outcome is which.
By default, the calculator aims to give you roughly the same profit (or qualifying loss) no matter which outcome comes in. If you’d rather tilt things towards a particular result, simply adjust the Underlay/Overlay slider.
Before you place anything, it’s good practice to check the results table and make sure everything looks as you’d expect. Here’s what each part is telling you:
What is multi-laying?
Multi-laying is simply the process of laying multiple mutually exclusive outcomes against a single back bet. You’ll most commonly come across it with horse racing price boosts, or when laying off the individual correct score outcomes that match a Bet Builder.
Can I remove a lay bet once I’ve added one?
Yes. Simply select the cross next to the lay you want to remove, and it’ll drop out of your calculation.
Can I use different commission rates?
Yes. Each lay bet has its own commission field, so you can enter a different rate for each one.
Can I use multiple betting exchanges?
Yes, although it’s worth bearing one thing in mind: the Maximum Exchange Liability figure assumes all your lay bets sit at the same exchange. If you’re using more than one, you’ll usually need a larger overall balance, because liabilities can’t be offset between different exchanges.
Does the calculator support other currencies?
Yes. As well as pounds, you can switch to euros or dollars using the currency selector at the top of the calculator.
Is the Multi-Lay Calculator free?
Yes. Like all of my calculators, it’s completely free to use.
