William Hill Offer – Richard Johnson Enhanced Treble

There’s a big day of horse racing at Doncaster today and William Hill are running a tasty little price boost on the action. They’ve enhanced Chase End Charlie, Bantam and Deadly Approach all to be placed from odds of 2.41 to a massive 7.50! Translated into matched betting terms, this gives us a potential risk-free profit of £120.91 and here’s how…

Price Boost Bet:

There doesn’t seem to be a maximum stake for this offer, so the following workings are based on a stake of £50.00. You can find the enhanced price by going to the horse racing section of the site, selecting the ‘Special Markets’ tab and then selecting ‘Jockey Offers’.

Place £50.00 on Chase End Charlie, Bantam and Deadly Approach all to be placed @ 7.50 = Potential profit of £325.00

Race 1: 1.45 at Doncaster

On the first race, we need to cover our original stake of £50.00. If we divide £50.00 by 0.98 (to account for the 2% Smarkets commission), this gives us a lay stake of £51.02.

Lay £51.02 on Chase End Charlie to place @ 1.85 = Potential liability of £43.37

If Chase End Charlie places – £43.37 = – £43.37
If Chase End Charlie doesn’t place – £50.00 + £50.00 = £0.00

So if Chase End Charlie doesn’t place, the offer will be over and we’ll have broken even. However, if Chase End Charlie does place, we will have lost £43.37 so far.

Race 2: 2.20 at Doncaster

So, if Chase End Charlie places, this means on the next race, we need to cover both the £43.37 loss from the first race plus the original stake of £50.00. If we divide £93.37 by 0.98 (to account for the 2% Smarkets commission), this gives us a lay stake of £95.28.

Lay £95.28 on Bantam to place @ 1.23 = Potential liability of £21.91

If Bantam places – £43.37 – £21.91 = – £65.28
If Bantam doesn’t place – £50.00 – £43.37 + £93.37 = £0.00

So if Bantam doesn’t place, the offer will be over and we’ll have broken even. However, if Bantam does place, we will have lost £65.28 so far.

Race 3: 2.55 at Doncaster

So, if Bantam wins, this means on the final race, we need to cover both the £65.28 total loss from the first two races plus the original stake of £50.00. If we divide £115.28 by 0.98 (to account for the 2% Smarkets commission), this gives us a lay stake of £117.63.

Lay £117.63 on Deadly Approach @ 2.18 = Potential liability of £138.81

If Deadly Approach places – £43.37 – £21.91 – £138.81 + £325.00 = £120.91 profit
If Deadly Approach doesn’t place – £50.00 – £43.37 – £21.91 + £115.28 = £0.00

So if any of the three horses fail to place along the way, we’ll have broken even and there’s no harm done. However, if Chase End Charlie, Bantam and Deadly Approach all place, we’ll have made a nice risk-free profit of £120.91!

I’d like to point out that the above workings are based on the lay odds that were available at the time of writing. If the lay odds fluctuate before we are able to place our lay bets, this may result in us making more potential profit, less potential or even a slight loss, so please bear that in mind before deciding whether or not to do this offer.
