188 bet – Extra places – Aintree

  • 3 x EXTRA PLACE RACES at AINTREE 16.05 & 16.40 & 17.15

  • New to matched betting?

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

Watch out though. They are only doing 1/5 odds on the 16.05 and the 17.15.

I might look at the 16.40 for this, won’t bother with the others.

I was just about to ask a similar question, there seems to be a few extra place offers on.

Back EW to the max allowed, this is essentially TWO bets…..your stake to win plus your stake to place. (If you place a 50 bet EW 100 will be deducted from your account).

Lay win AND then place market appropriately at the exchange. These are two seperate markets. As an e.g you’d lay 50 @ 5.0/5.1 on the win market and 50 @ 2/2.06 on the place market.

Hope your horse finishes in the extra place (usually 5th). If so you win both the EW part of your back bet AND your lay bet and are quids in. If it doesn’t you’re usually down a small amount.

    Lay accordingly.

    To calculate EW odds:

    ((odds – 1)/4) + 1

    ((5.0 – 1)/4) + 1 = 2.0

If you back EW @ 12.0, place odds = 3.75 etc etc

Well I am looking at Katachenko as an example in the 16.40.

An £20 e/w really means two bets 20@15 to win and 20@4.5 to place.

So you can back 15.0/21.0 to win and 4.5/4.8 to place for qualifying loss (stick qualifying bets into calculator to find lay stakes for each bet).

If he wins or places 1-2-3 you lose qualifying loss £7.53. If he finishes 4th you win lay place and win bet and you win bookie place bet – so in this example you would win 50 at the bookie plus 32.47 at exchange for 82.47 profit.

Obviously wait till tomorrow when you will get much tighter back/lay odds. But even as it is (or was when I began this post!), is 9/1 effective odds to finish 4th decent for 13 runners? Considering the horse is pretty unlikely to be one of the best few, or one of the worst few.

Sorry its not a great example because the odds are not just there right now but you can get some chances with about £3 qualifying loss often.

Thanks gents. I think I’ll need to knock up another spreadsheet in the morning.

Not sure if you guys have seen, but I’ve now added a strategy guide to the blog for extra place offers that might help…

    Nicely done Matt.

Is there a max bet amount on the extra places offer? Can’t find any mention on the site.

I’ve never seen a max bet amount for the extra place offers so I don’t think there is one.
