Abandoned Football Match

Hi,

Newbie question/worry…

Today i had a match abandoned after 62 minutes – Okoyama v Tokyo.

the bets i had were as follows
Betway – £30 cash Okoyama to win
Betway – £30 free bet both teams to score

i laid these off on betfair for a profit, but then the game postponed. Betway state unless the game is played in 24 hours the bets are void, however, betfair claim it is 72 hours and my concern is that i could be left exposed on betfair.

has anyone encountered this before?

It’s not happened to me before but yes you could be left exposed on Betfair.

An answer (if the game is replayed after 24 hours but before 72 hours) would be to place back bets on Betfair on the same market.

As an aside, betting on the Japanese second division is likely to get you gubbed fairly quickly.

Also, you would ideally like to be placing your free bet on something that is longer odds than both teams to score.
