Am i doing this right?

  • I am new to matched betting and want to make sure I am doing it right. If I have made a mistake or mistakes please tell me.

I have placed my first bet to get my free bet. It was a football bet. It was a £5 back bet with Coral to get my free £20 bet. The lay bet was with betfair exchange. My bet with Coral won and I got £8.75 back (£5 stake and £3.75 winnings) . Obviously my lay bet with betfair lost and I lost £4.

    So that means

I started with £5 with Coral and I now have £8.75 + my £20 free bet. I now have £28.75 in my account.

I started with £10 with betfair and I now have £6

That means I now have to do my free bet with Coral. I have some questions to ask before I do that

    1) When I am doing the free bet odds calculator for my free bet with Coral do I choose stake not returned or stake returned?

    2) What is the difference between stake returned and not returned when doing the odds calculator? Am I right in saying with my first bet with coral because I got my £5 back from my bet and my £3.75 winnings that would be classed as a bet with stake returned?

    3) When doing the odds calculator does whether you choose stake not returned or stake returned depend on which bookmaker you are placing the free bet with?

    4) When I place my free bet with coral do I only bet my free £20 bet I got with Coral or do I place a bet of £28.75 which is my £20 free bet with coral, my initial £5 deposit and £3.85 winnings from the first bet with Coral?

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

Appologies for asking newbie questions. I have used my free £20 with Coral and I got everything right. I made a profit of £15.91

    I have one last question.

When you have a bookie that says it will give you something like 50% up to €200. How does that work in relation to matched betting ? 10bet says “Roll over your deposit amount once and grab your bonus!” which is not very helpful.

Let’s say I sign up to 10bet. I deposit €50 and they give me €25. Do I then first have a bet with the €50 I deposited (the losing bet) then have bet with the €25 they gave me (the winning bet)?

Sorry I just realised my maths is way off.

I fully understand how you do matched bet with a free bet. I have done one and I was sucessful.

What I don’t understand is how to do matched bet when the offer is where they give you another 50% of what you depsosit. Is anybody willing to explain it?

Yes read the terms and conditions and make sure you understand yourself what you are doing.

I’m just answering off the top of my head without checking all the details of the promotion.

You deposit 50, you must roll this over once before they credit your bonus. So you must bet the full amount once. So this is your qualifying bet. Back and lay your bet for a small qualifying loss. Look for. Market with tight back and lay odds.

Then you get your free 25. So then you have to extract real value out of the free bet. Again look for right back and lay odds and you should be able to get 20 real cash.

Yeah you might get 20 if it loses. I’d check you then don’t have to roll the bonus funds over as well. 10bet are rarely straightforward.

Sorry for boring you all but I have another question.

With 12bet the decimal odds are different than betfairs way of doing it

Betfair lists the odds as things like 1.5, 1.68, 2.21 etc

12bet lists the odds as things like -300, +2200, +10000

How do I convert the way 12bet does the odds to match the way betfair does the odds?

I know in betfair it lists the 12bet odds as 1.5 ,1.68 etc but i need to make sure nothing has changed with 12 bet so themtelling me the odds are -300 +2,200 etc is not helping me lol.

Not sure where but somewhere there’ll be a converter that offers fractional decimal or American odds. Looks like your set to American.

To emphasise – Read The T+C’s! And the Guide! Offers like the 10bet one are different to the “normal” coral one because when you have to rollover as with the 10bet SUB the free bet may actually be a bonus credit instead.
So make sure you understand the difference between SR or SNR (Stake Returned or Stake Not Returned) and which one the offer is for.

Here are the T+C’s for 10bet – this is a lot more complicated than I think you realise. I’ve added some comments (marked with ****) for each clause:

1.Make a deposit of £15 or more, use bonus code FD200 and get 10Bets 50% Welcome Bonus up to £200 (or equivalent currency).
2.Bonuses are given upon a one-time deposit wager. Prior to cashing-out any winnings, both the deposit and bonus amount must be rolled over five (5) times- bonuses or winnings will be forfeited otherwise. Only settled bets will count towards the bonus.

**** Bonus wagering requirements are – deposit (£400) and bonus (£200) rolled over 5 times. = £600*5 = £3000. so to get at your £200 you need to wager at least 3 grand (see below)

3.All bets, including Accumulator bets, must be placed on odds of at least 3/5 (1.60). Single bets placed on any type of Handicap (excluding 3Way Handicap), Forecast/Tricast or Over/Under bets do not apply. Non-qualifying bets can be placed but will not count towards the bonus.

**** This has now limited the markets you can bet on. It has also made clear that you MUST bet at odds of 1.6 and above to qualify for the bonus, however, you can place bets below this but they will not qualify.

4.Customers who deposit via Skrill or Neteller are not eligible for this bonus.

**** You must deposit via bank account to receive the bonus.

5.Bonus requirements must be met within 90 days from the initial deposit- any funds kept in your bonus balance will be forfeited otherwise.

**** you’ve got about 3 months to work your way through the offer – this is very useful because you can take your time to wait for good odds matches to turn up.

6.Each bet placed will contribute with a maximum of 50% of your bonus amount towards fulfilling rollover requirements. For example- if your bonus is £100, the maximum amount each bet can contribute towards the rollover requirements with is £50.

**** THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT! – It has effectively doubled your wagering requirements.

7.This offer cannot be used in conjunction with or contribute to other Free Bet or sports bonus offers. It deactivates the future claim of any other sports promotions based on first deposits/bets.

**** you can’t do any offers while completing wagering

8.10Bet’s General Terms and Conditions apply

    **** Rest of terms

    I haven’t signed up with 10bet yet – Now I know why!
(other members please point out any glaring errors, it is very early!)
